The definitive book on adapting the classic work of Richard Wyckoff to today’s markets. Price and volume analysis is one of the most effective approaches to market analysis. It was pioneered by Richard Wyckoff, who worked on Wall Street during the golden age of technical analysis. In Trades About to Happen, veteran trader David Weis explains how to utilize the principles behind Wyckoff’s work and make effective trades with this method. Chapter by chapter, Weis clearly demonstrates how to construct intraday wave charts similar to Wyckoff’s originals, draw support/resistance lines, interpret the struggle for dominance in trading ranges, and recognize action signals at turning points. Filled with in-depth insights and practical advice, Trades About to Happen promises to be the definitive work on utilizing Wyckoff’s classic methods in today’s turbulent markets.

2012 | 438 Pages | ISBN: 9400742223 | PDF | 9 MB
Assembling papers originally presented at the Resilient Cities 2011 Congress in Bonn, Germany (June 2011), the second global forum on cities and adaptation to climate change, this volume is the second in a series resulting from this annual event. These cutting-edge papers represent the latest research on the topic and reflect the intensification of the debate on the meaning of and interaction between climate adaptation, risk reduction and broader resilience. Thus, contributors offer more material related to resilience, such as water, energy and food security; green infrastructure; the role of renewables and ecosystem services; vulnerable communities and urban poor; and responsive financing for adaptation and multi-level governance. Overall, the book brings a number of different perspectives to bear on the most pressing issues and controversies surrounding climate change adaptation in cities. These papers will prove invaluable to anyone interested in deepening their understanding of urban resilience and contributing to tackling climate change at the local level.

Governing the Uncertain Adaptation and Climate in Russia and Finland

Free Download Governing the Uncertain: Adaptation and Climate in Russia and Finland By Monica Tennberg (auth.), Monica Tennberg (eds.)
2012 | 138 Pages | ISBN: 9400738420 | PDF | 3 MB
The book provides a detailed analysis of the development of adaptive governance in Russia and Finland. It presents a case study from the Sakha Republic in Russia that focuses on community’s participation in the process of governing of the flood events in the Tatta River area. Local adaptive practices are analyzed in relation to federal and regional responses that may mandate, encourage or collide with community’s agency. A second case study is centered on the Finnish community of Kuttura, Ivalo. It explores the mounting challenges presented by changing environmental conditions to traditional reindeer herding, as well as the efforts made to cope with these new factors. Combining anthropological research and political science, this penetrating work offers revealing scrutiny of governmental responses to one of the most urgent issues facing both politicians and the citizens who live in their domains.

The 18th InternationalConference on User Modeling, Adaptation and Person- ization(UMAP 2010)took placeon BigIsland, HawaiiduringJune 20-24,2010. It was the second conference after UMAP 2009 in Trento, Italy, which merged the successful biannual User Modeling (UM) and Adaptive Hypermedia (AH) conference series. The ResearchPapertrackof the conferencewaschairedbyPaulDe Brafrom the Eindhoven University of Technology and Alfred Kobsa from the University ofCalifornia,Irvine. TheywereassistedbyaninternationalProgramCommittee of 80 leading ?gures in the AH and UM communities as well as highly promising youngerresearchers. Papersinthe ResearchPapertrackweregenerallyreviewed by three and sometimes even four reviewers, with one of them acting as a lead who initiates a discussion between reviewers and reconciles their opinions in a meta-review. The conferencesolicitedLong ResearchPapersof up to 12pagesin length, whichrepresentoriginalreports of substantivenew research. In addition, theconferenceacceptedShortResearchPapersofuptosixpagesinlength, whose merit was assessed more in terms of originality and importance than maturity and technical validation. The Research Paper track received 161 submission, with 112 in the long and 49 in the short paper category. Of these, 26 long and 6 short papers were accepted, resulting in an acceptance rate of 23. 2% for long papers and 19. 9% overall. Many authors of rejected papers were encouraged to resubmit to the Poster and Demo track of the conference. Following the example of UMAP 2009, the conference also had an Ind- try Paper track chaired by Bhaskar Mehta from Google, Zur ¨ ich, Switzerland and Kurt Partridge from PARC, Palo Alto, USA.

2005 | 307 Pages | ISBN: 0387232923 | PDF | 7 MB
The history of the Pacific Islands is noted for great upheavals, from colonization to tribal warfare, natural disasters to nuclear testing. More recently, political change, increasing technology and urbanization, and conflict between traditional and Western cultures have led to considerable social problems in the region. Substance and alcohol abuse, violence, cultural displacement, and suicide bring uncertainty to day-to-day life and stretch already overextended social resources.Social Change and Psychosocial Adaptation in the Pacific Islands sensitively balances situations applicable across this vast geographical area with data and events relevant to individual nations in Polynesia, Melanesia, and Micronesia. Chapters are written by native clinicians, cultural anthropologists, cross-cultural psychologists, and other professionals serving the region, specifically focusing on:- Hawaii- Aboriginal Australia – The Solomon Islands – Fiji – Guam – The Marshall Islands – The Federated States of Micronesia Each provides historical background, details the country’s ethnic makeup, summarizes major cultural identity/survival issues, and examines its existing health care and mental health care systems. The tasks ahead are large. Practitioners, researchers, and other professionals working with the peoples of the Pacific need culturally attuned resources to better collaborate on interventions, prevention programs, and policy. Social Change and Psychosocial Adaptation in the Pacific Islands rises to this complex challenge.

Unsupervised domain adaptation (UDA) is a challenging problem in machine learning where the model is trained on a source domain with labeled data and tested on a target domain with unlabeled data. In recent years, UDA has received significant attention from the research community due to its applicability in various real-world scenarios. This book provides a comprehensive review of state-of-the-art UDA methods and explores new variants of UDA that have the potential to advance the field.

English | EPUB (True) | 2023 | 836 Pages | ISBN : 3031383982 | 181 MB
Specialty crops are defined as fruits and vegetables, tree nuts, dried fruits, horticulture, and nursery crops including floriculture. The value of specialty crop production in the United States accounted for 18.44 % of the $433.569 billion in agriculture cash receipts collected in 2021. In 2020, that ratio was 21.47% of the $363.464 billion. Specialty crops are gaining increasing attention across nation as demonstrated in the 2018 farm bill (Agricultural Act of the 2018 Farm Bill (P.L. 115-334)) with the increased number of provisions addressing specialty crop issues, reflecting their growing role in the global economy.

Secondary Metabolites in Plant Stress Adaptation Analytic Space of Secondary Metabolites

Free Download Secondary Metabolites in Plant Stress Adaptation: Analytic Space of Secondary Metabolites by Nabil Semmar
English | PDF EPUB (True) | 2024 | 393 Pages | ISBN : 3031525949 | 74.4 MB
This book covers correlation and combined disciplinary aspects implying the use of secondary metabolites (SMs) of different plant species for control and monitoring of environment states. Phytochemical management of ecological systems represents an integrative field aiming for determination/evaluation of environment conditions from qualitative and quantitative analysis of plant metabolites. Plants respond to environmental conditions through productions of secondary metabolites. SMs represent highly variable and sensitive phytocompounds because of their small produced amounts, high structural variability and diversified activities. These characteristics make variations of SMs in plants to be highly informative on environmental conditions, physiological states and biological interactions. Qualitative and quantitative variations of SMs in plants are subject to correlation analyses to highlight links between biotic/abiotic conditions and plant chemical patterns.
