Reliability and Safety Analyses under Fuzziness

Free Download Reliability and Safety Analyses under Fuzziness By Janusz Karpiński, Włodzimierz Lewin, Jerzy Rudnicki (auth.), Professor Takehisa Onisawa, Professor Janusz Kacprzyk (eds.)
1995 | 376 Pages | ISBN: 3662129132 | PDF | 15 MB
This book provides a comprehensive, up-to-date account on recent applications of fuzzy sets and possibility theory in reliability and safety analysis. Various aspects of system’s reliability, quality control, reliability and safety of man-machine systems fault analysis, risk assessment and analysis, structural, seismic, safety, etc. are discussed. The book provides new tools for handling non-probabilistic aspects of uncertainty in these problems. It is the first in this field in the world literature.

Matrix and Finite Element Analyses of Structures

Free Download Matrix and Finite Element Analyses of Structures by Madhujit Mukhopadhyay, Abdul Hamid Sheikh
English | November 26, 2022 | ISBN: 3031087232 | 494 pages | MOBI | 71 Mb
This textbook has been primarily written for undergraduate and postgraduate engineering students studying the mechanics of solids and structural systems. The content focuses on matrix, finite elements, structural analysis, and computer implementation in a unified and integrated manner. Using classical methods of structural analysis, it discusses matrix and the finite element methods in an easy-to-understand manner. It consists of a large number of diagrams and illustrations for easy understanding of the concepts. All the computer codes are presented in "FORTRAN" AND "C". This textbook is highly useful for the undergraduate and postgraduate engineering students. It also acquaints the practicing engineers about the computer-based techniques used in structural analysis.

Interdisciplinary Analyses of Professional Basketball

Free Download Interdisciplinary Analyses of Professional Basketball: Investigating the Hardwood
English | 2024 | ISBN: 3031416554 | 453 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 9.3 MB
This edited collection conceptualizes professional basketball not just as a sport but as an historically, culturally, and economically embedded entity. The chapters analyse the fact that the sport of basketball contains alternative logics that can easily clash, and by treating professional basketball as the negotiation place of these multiple demands, ideas, and logics, the editors have identified three areas in which these clashes manifest: the realization of the game; the cultural impact of professional basketball and the global outreach of professional basketball.

Methodology of Relational Sociology Approaches and Analyses

Free Download Methodology of Relational Sociology: Approaches and Analyses
English | 2023 | ISBN: 3031416252 | 476 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 14 MB
This is the first book addressing explicitly and specifically the methodological issues of relational sociology, and more broadly of the new relational paradigm in social sciences. The dynamically developing relational movement in social and cultural sciences is fueled by various classical and contemporary theoretical inspirations. Relational approaches propose various models of relational analyses, such as field analysis, social space analysis, network analysis, or the critical realist relational heuristic. The relational turn, which promotes interdisciplinarity in research, simultaneously reflects the drive towards an innovative reconstruction of sociology. Contemporary relational sociology is at the forefront of the relational movement. The program of relational sociology is still being shaped, frequently becoming the subject of discussions with different standpoints expressed. The aim of this book is to reflect on various relational approaches and models of relational analysis. Answers to two basic questions are sought: Are there foundations for a methodological unity of relational sociology, despite the diversity of approaches? And does relational sociology form a new paradigm? To answer these questions, it is necessary to investigate differences between the relational paradigm and the earlier, competing sociological paradigms. The answers to key questions show what innovations the methodology of relational sociology brings, i.e. what are the methodological consequences of the relational concept of the social fact. The broadly defined horizon of methodological issues is presented. The book creates an open space for discussion on various approaches and varieties of relational analysis, as well as the possibility of their methodological synthesis within relational sociology.

Uncertainty Analyses in Environmental Sciences and Hydrogeology Methods and Applications to Subsurface Contamination

Free Download Uncertainty Analyses in Environmental Sciences and Hydrogeology: Methods and Applications to Subsurface Contamination by Rachid Ababou , Juliette Chastanet , Jean-Marie Côme , Manuel Marcoux , Michel Quintard
English | PDF EPUB (True) | 2023 | 103 Pages | ISBN : 9819962404 | 19.8 MB
This book highlights several methods and quantitative implementations of both probabilistic and fuzzy-based approaches to uncertainty quantification and uncertainty propagation through environmental subsurface pollution models with uncertain input parameters. The book focuses on methods as well as applications in hydrogeology, soil hydrology, groundwater contamination, and related areas (e.g., corrosion of nuclear waste canisters). The methods are illustrated for a broad spectrum of models, from non-differential I/O models to complex PDE solvers, including a novel 3D quasi-analytical model of contaminant transport, and a site-specific computer model of dissolved contaminant migration from a DNAPL (Dense Non Aqueous Phase Liquid) pollution source.
