English | 2025 | ISBN: 3031644026 | 247 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 25 MB
Applications of Machine Learning in Hydroclimatology is a comprehensive exploration of the transformative potential of machine learning for addressing critical challenges in water resources management. The book explores how artificial intelligence can unravel the complexities of hydrological systems, providing researchers and practitioners with cutting-edge tools to model, predict, and manage these systems with greater precision and effectiveness. It thoroughly examines the modeling of hydrometeorological extremes, such as floods and droughts, which are becoming increasingly difficult to predict due to climate change. By leveraging AI-driven methods to forecast these extremes, the book offers innovative approaches that enhance predictive accuracy. It emphasizes the importance of analyzing non-stationarity and uncertainty in a rapidly evolving climate landscape, illustrating how statistical and frequency analyses can improve hydrological forecasts. Moreover, the book explores the impact of climate change on flood risks, drought occurrences, and reservoir operations, providing insights into how these phenomena affect water resource management.

Proteomics Methods, Applications and Limitations

Free Download Giselle C. Rancourt, "Proteomics: Methods, Applications and Limitations "
English | ISBN: 161668691X | 2012 | 194 pages | PDF | 4 MB
Proteomics is the large-scale study of proteins, particularly their structures and functions. Proteins are vital parts of living organisms, as they are the main components of the physiological metabolic pathways of cells. The proteome is the entire complement of proteins, including the modifications made to a particular set of proteins, produced by an organism or system. This book presents and discusses various topical data on proteomics, including: proteomic technologies used in celiac disease, protein location in plant proteomics, the prediction of protein-protein interactions (PPIs) using proteomics, proteomic studies of mild cognitive impairment, among others.

Dielectric Materials Introduction, Research and Applications

Free Download Ram Naresh Prasad Choudhary, "Dielectric Materials: Introduction, Research and Applications "
English | ISBN: 1607410397 | 2009 | 152 pages | PDF | 5 MB
In reviewing the growth, development and properties of dielectrics, it is worth discussing the issues of creating new materials and understanding the origin of the properties shown with external stimuli. Beginning with a brief summary of the history of the dielectric materials, this review focuses on the chronological development and recent works with possible future applications. At present, the broad class of dielectrics becomes interesting from the point of view of its diverse applications in various fields. Solid dielectrics are perhaps the most commonly used dielectrics in electrical engineering, and many solids are very good insulators. As we know, solids may be classified according to various criteria: (i) structure (as crystalline and non-crystalline solids); (ii) electrical conductivity (conductors, semiconductors and insulators); (iii) the existence of some basic properties. Dielectric materials can be divided into 32 crystal classes or point groups.

Capacitors Theory, Types and Applications

Free Download Alexander L. Schulz, "Capacitors: Theory, Types and Applications "
English | ISBN: 1616689722 | 2010 | 119 pages | PDF | 5 MB
A capacitor or condenser is a passive electronic component consisting of a pair of conductors separated by a dielectric (insulator). When a potential difference (voltage) exists across the conductors, an electric field is present in the dielectric. This field stores energy and produces a mechanical force between the conductors. The effect is greatest when there is a narrow separation between large areas of conductors, hence capacitor conductors are often called plates. This book reviews research on the role of capacitors and capacitance within plasma processing; voltage stabilisation using a storage capacitor; disposal of PCB capacitors in Kazakhstan; and how ideal and real capacitors affect the behaviour of energy efficiencies.

Numerical and Statistical Methods for Bioengineering Applications in MATLAB

Free Download Numerical and Statistical Methods for Bioengineering: Applications in MATLAB (Cambridge Texts in Biomedical Engineering) by Michael R. King, Nipa A. Mody
English | November 29, 2010 | ISBN: 0521871581 | 594 pages | PDF | 7.33 Mb
The first MATLAB-based numerical methods textbook for bioengineers that uniquely integrates modelling concepts with statistical analysis, while maintaining a focus on enabling the user to report the error or uncertainty in their result. Between traditional numerical method topics of linear modelling concepts, nonlinear root finding, and numerical integration, chapters on hypothesis testing, data regression and probability are interweaved. A unique feature of the book is the inclusion of examples from clinical trials and bioinformatics, which are not found in other numerical methods textbooks for engineers. With a wealth of biomedical engineering examples, case studies on topical biomedical research, and the inclusion of end of chapter problems, this is a perfect core text for a one-semester undergraduate course.
