Solar Cells New Aspects and Solutions

Free Download Solar Cells: New Aspects and Solutions By Leonid A. Kosyachenko (ed.)
2011 | 522 Pages | ISBN: 9533077611 | PDF | 26 MB
The fourth book of the four-volume edition of ‘Solar cells’ consists chapters that are general in nature and not related specifically to the so-called photovoltaic generations, novel scientific ideas and technical solutions, which has not properly approved. General issues of the efficiency of solar cell and through hydrogen production in photoelectrochemical solar cell are discussed. Considerable attention is paid to the quantum-size effects in solar cells both in general and on specific examples of super-lattices, quantum dots, etc. New materials, such as cuprous oxide as an active material for solar cells, AlSb for use as an absorber layer in p-i-n junction solar cells, InGaAsN as a promising material for multi-junction tandem solar cells, InP in solar cells with MIS structures are discussed. Several chapters are devoted to the analysis of both status and perspective of organic photovoltaics such as polymer/fullerene solar cells, poly(p-phenylene-vinylene) derivatives, photovoltaic textiles, photovoltaic fibers, etc.

Stem Cells in the Respiratory System

Free Download Stem Cells in the Respiratory System By Mauricio Rojas
2010 | 400 Pages | ISBN: 1607617749 | PDF | 6 MB
In this state-of-the-art exploration of a hugely dynamic and fast-evolving field of research, leading researchers share their collective wisdom on the role that stem cells could play in the context of physiological stress and lung injury. The text focuses on reviewing the most relevant-and recent-ideas on using local, endogenous, and exogenous progenitor/stem cells in preventing and treating injury to the lung. The lungs are one of the most complex organs in the human body, with a mature adult lung boasting at least 40 morphologically differentiated cell lineages. Our entire blood supply passes through the lung’s alveolar units during oxygenation. This interaction with the outside world, along with the intricacies of its structure, makes the lung a highly susceptible organ that is vulnerable to numerous types of injury and infection. This means that the mechanisms of lung repair are in themselves correspondingly complex. Because of their multipotentiality, as well as the fact of the lung’s relatively rapid cell turnover, stem cells are thought to be an important alternative cell-base therapy in lung injury. Despite the controversial nature of stem cell research, there has been growing interest in both local and endogenous stem cells in the lung. This highly topical book with chapters on everything from using mesenchymal stem cells in lung repair to the effect of physical activity on the mobilization of stem and progenitor cells, represents an exciting body of work by outstanding investigators and will be required reading for those with an interest in the subject.

Corrosion and Degradation in Fuel Cells, Supercapacitors and Batteries

Free Download Corrosion and Degradation in Fuel Cells, Supercapacitors and Batteries by Viswanathan S. Saji
English | EPUB (True) | 2024 | 496 Pages | ISBN : 3031570111 | 126.8 MB
This book discusses research and development on various degradation types and their mitigation approaches in electrochemical energy storage and conversion (EESC) devices, such as fuel cells, batteries, and supercapacitors, essential to realizing carbon neutrality and a sustainable energy economy. Corrosion and degradation of the components remains a major threat to EESC devices’ long-term durability, and at present there is an insufficient number of book-length treatments of this topic. This volume brings together the most up-to-date findings from the research literature.
