Treatment of Cerebral Palsy and Motor Delay

Free Download Treatment of Cerebral Palsy and Motor Delay By Sophie Levitt
2010 | 368 Pages | ISBN: 1405176164 | PDF | 16 MB
Treatment of Cerebral Palsy and Motor Delay is first and foremost a practical book, a distillation of Sophie Levitt’s considerable experience in treating those affected by cerebral palsy. This fifth edition outlines therapeutic approaches and suggests treatment and management options, providing a wealth of practical information, supported by clear diagrams and photographs, on assessment, management and treatment. The book emphasises an eclectic, holistic approach, and integrates current ideas on motor control and motor learning in a further development of Levitt’s Collaborative Learning Approach. This new edition provides greater commentary on evidence-based practice, as well as practical, updated information on the use of botulinum toxin, orthopaedic surgery and the therapist’s role following these procedures. The book is aimed primarily at practitioners and students concerned with the developmental abilities and difficulties of children, particularly physiotherapists and occupational therapists working in paediatrics. Doctors and other healthcare professionals will also find useful insights in the book. Parents, families and also teachers of people with cerebral palsy can learn more about therapy by consulting the book together with their therapist. Written by an international authority in the field Extensively revised, updated and well referenced Emphasises an eclectic, functional and holistic approach Highly illustrated Promotes positive relationships between therapists, people with cerebral palsy and their families From the Foreword: "I greatly welcome the fifth edition of this book which brings together the management of cerebral palsies into a comprehensive but readable form… This book is in my view an essential part of both a therapist’s and doctor’s basic understanding of the subject… This book remains essential for those managing children with disability."-Brian Neville, Professor of Childhood Epilepsy, Professor of Paediatric Neurology, University College London, Institute of Child Health/Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust.

Endovascular Surgery of Cerebral Aneurysms (2024)

Free Download Endovascular Surgery of Cerebral Aneurysms by Xianli Lv
English | EPUB | 2022 | 307 Pages | ISBN : 981167101X | 122.3 MB
This book provides recent progress of neuroendovascular surgery, which is a minimally invasive treatment of cerebral aneurysms. Great advances have been made in the techniques, devices and large randomized clinical trials showing striking therapeutic benefit for cerebral aneurysms. The treatment of cerebral aneurysms has also seen substantial evolution, increasing the number of aneurysms that can be treated successfully with minimally invasive therapy. In the 17 chapters, authors introduce the techniques, devices, device structures and therapeutic concepts.

Cerebral Vasospasm

Free Download Cerebral Vasospasm By R. W. Seiler, R. Binggeli (auth.), Prof.Dr R. W. Seiler, Univ.-Prof. Dr. H.-J. Steiger (eds.)
2001 | 272 Pages | ISBN: 3211836500 | PDF | 8 MB
Cerebral vasospasm remains a major clinical problem in patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage. Neuroprotection with calcium antagonists, hemodynamic therapy and interventional angioplasty have an established role in the management of this disease, but an effective single drug for prevention or treatment of the vasospasm is still lacking. This book contains selected contributions to the 7th International Conference on Cerebral Vasospasm held in Interlaken, Switzerland, in June 2000. Part I of the book concentrates on basic science and experimental vasospasm. The molecular biology of vasospasm, the role of endothelin and nitric oxide as well as the potential of gene therapy are presented. Part II concentrates on the diagnosis and therapy of clinical vasospasm. New diagnostic tools are presented, including diffusion and perfusion-weighted MRI, MR spectroscopy and microdialysis with metabolic monitoring. Leaders in the field discuss the current indications and results of endovascular treatment of cerebral vasospasm. The latter chapters are devoted to the treatment of clinical vasospasm with new drugs and to the prevention and treatment of ischemic deficits with neuroprotective drugs and hemodynamic therapy. The book provides the state-of-the-art in the major subjects of the molecular biology of vasoconstriction and experimental vasospasm as well as the diagnosis and treatment of clinical vasospasm.
