English | ISBN: 0750960337 | 2016 | 320 pages | EPUB | 576 KB
In 1970, runaway 15-year-old Robert Stone showed up in the Bahamas. Turning diver and pot-smuggler in a Miami Vice world, he made a million before he was 18, then went legit as a pioneer saturation diver in the North Sea. At 30, after seeing friends die and surviving several close calls, he went to work for himself, mostly on the wrong side of the law: in the Niger Delta, where he conducted midnight oil deals with armed bandits; in the South China Seas, where he bribed the Vietnamese Navy and slipped away with $100 million worth of prime marijuana; and in the Arctic, where he unloaded the illicit cargo under the nose of the U.S. Vice President. When his closest friend turned government informant, Stone was thrown into a Nigerian jail. Stone bribed his way to freedom, and became the quarry in an international manhunt led by a U.S.. Organized Crime task force. After a couple of years on the run, he was arrested and jailed in Switzerland and sent to a Federal Penitentiary following extradition. This is a story about the power of money to draw a man into ever-bolder adventures, to bribe his way to the very top of business and government, and, ultimately, to buy his freedom.

Code of Conversion Instead of chasing leads, start drawing in clients

Free Download Code of Conversion: Instead of chasing leads, start drawing in clients by Epris E Ezekiel

We need to start considering the quality of the leads seriously and stop assuming as though every lead is a sure guarantee for new clients. We need to shift our focus from merely gathering leads to focusing on customer outcomes. I hate to break it to some of you, but a lead is useless until it turns into a profitable customer. Too many sales teams hold the false belief that clients will arrive if they have enough leads. Yes, summer always follows spring, but I’m afraid leads don’t always turn into customers.

CHASING SOCIAL JUSTICE How Do We Advance the Work that Matters Most

Free Download Laurie Sherman, "CHASING SOCIAL JUSTICE: How Do We Advance the Work that Matters Most?"
English | 2020 | ISBN: 057867677X | EPUB | pages: 230 | 0.8 mb
While deeply meaningful and utterly essential, social justice work can be confounding, raising many complex questions. Why do we take one step forward and then two steps back – on racial justice, the environment, immigration, removing barriers to economic opportunity, gun control? What can we do to bridge the divides in our increasingly polarized country, beginning with the very language we use? How can nonprofits and public agencies best serve constituents in need, balancing mission with necessities such as marketing (too often dismissed as a luxury)? What lessons from past social justice efforts directly benefit our current work? How do those in justice professions make a sustainable difference, and how do we keep on keeping on?Chasing Social Justice addresses these questions in an unusually poignant and accessible way, combining lived experience with political analysis, illuminating lessons learned over the past three decades across social justice movements, initiatives, and organizations. Described by Mike Dukakis as "Just what we need ….at just the right time," this riveting new book is ideal for: *Nonprofit leaders*Professors teaching graduate and undergraduate students in areas such as Public Health, Social Work, Management, Public Policy, Education, Sociology, and Political Science*New and long-time activistsABOUT THE AUTHOROver the past three decades, Laurie Sherman has held leadership and management roles in public health, educational equity, neighborhood organizing, and human rights. English | April 03, 2009 | ISBN: B0025UMMB8 | 6 hours and 59 minutes | MP3 128 Kbps | 575 Mb
Do you want your life to be perfect? We’re all laboring under our own and society’s expectations to be perfect in every way – to look younger, to make more money, to be happy all the time. But according to Tal Ben-Shahar, the "New York Times" bestselling author of "Happier", the pursuit of perfect may actually be the number-one internal obstacle to finding happiness. Or do you want to be happy? Applying cutting-edge research in the field of positive psychology – the scientific principles taught in his wildly popular course at Harvard University – Ben-Shahar takes us off the impossible pursuit of perfection and directs us to the way to happiness, richness, and true fulfillment. He shows us the freedom derived from not trying to do it all right all the time and the real lessons that failure and painful emotions can teach us. You don’t have to be perfect to be perfectly happy! In "The Pursuit of Perfect", Tal Ben-Shahar offers an optimal way of thinking about failure and success – and the very way we live. He provides exercises for self reflection, meditations, and ‘Time-Ins’ to help you rediscover what you really want out of life.

Free Download Above the Noise: My Story of Chasing Calm (Audiobook)
English | ASIN: B0CWBRWCVR | 2024 | 6 hours and 48 minutes | M4B@128 kbps | 378 MB
Author: DeMar DeRozan, Dave Zarum
Narrator: Aaron Goodson, John Patrick Walsh

From one of the most outspoken and respected NBA athletes comes a groundbreaking and remarkable memoir chronicling a very public struggle with depression, in the hopes that other people will not suffer alone. "As men, and especially Black men, we don’t talk about our mental health enough. We struggle to admit when things aren’t okay, even when it’s obvious to everybody around us. I’ve seen how toxic that can become. I’ve experienced it myself, keeping everything under wraps until your head and heart are full of fire and rage." DeMar DeRozan, six-time NBA All-Star, has been called a "basketball savant" (ESPN) and "the best closer in the NBA" (GQ)-but when he went public with his depression, it sparked a conversation that reached far beyond the court. By breaking the stigma of speaking out, he added a new, seldom-heard voice to the mental health dialogue: a successful Black male athlete, openly naming his pain and advocating for others to do the same.
