English | ISBN: 0748728651 | | 144 pages | PDF | 60 MB
This extensively revised 4th edition of an established physics text offers coverage of the recent developments at A/AS-Level, with each topic explained in straightforward terms, starting at an appropriate Level (7/8) of the National Curriculum. The format has been updated, with new consolidation sections and questions in the text designed to provide a link between GSCE and A-Level. At the end of each section are questions, mainly from past A-Level examination papers, intended for consolidation and revision. Answers are included.

1995 | 299 Pages | ISBN: 9401041814 | PDF | 24 MB
This special issue of the international journal of cosmic physics, Astrophysics and Space Science, contains invited contributions delivered at the Second IEEE International Workshop on Plasma Astrophysics and Cosmology, held from 10 to 12 May 1993 in Princeton, New Jersey. The Workshop was sponsored by the NSF Division of Atmospheric Sciences, NASA Headquarters, Space Physics Division, and the Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. It was the purpose of the Workshop to update topics in Plasma Astrophysics and Cosmology presented at the First IEEE International Workshop on Plasma Cosmology, La Jolla, California, 20-22 February 1989, and to again bring together observers and theorists to discuss the related links between plasma theory and observation. Another goal of the Workshop and these proceedings was to highlight the Centennial Celebration (1896-1996) of the founding of Plasma Astrophysics and Cosmology and several papers are devoted to the history of this field of science.

Cosmology for the Curious (2nd Edition)

This book is a gentle introduction for all those wishing to learn about modern views of the cosmos. Our universe originated in a great explosion – the big bang. For nearly a century cosmologists have studied the aftermath of this explosion: how the universe expanded and cooled down, and how galaxies were gradually assembled by gravity. The nature of the bang itself has come into focus only relatively recently. It is the subject of the theory of cosmic inflation, which was developed in the last few decades and has led to a radically new global view of the universe.

Mystic Universe An Introduction to Vedic Cosmology [Audiobook]

English | ASIN: B0D9J5NYTV | 2024 | MP3@64 kbps | ~20:21:00 | 559 MB
Unlike previous works on Vedic cosmology, which discuss the model of the universe without describing its connection to a theory of nature, this book discusses the theory before it describes the model. A deep understanding of the theory is essential if the model has to be understood because there are numerous differences between modern and Vedic cosmology, such as a geocentric vs. a heliocentric solar system, round vs. flat descriptions of the planets, higher and lower planetary systems in hierarchical space, dynamic vs. stationary models of the Earth, and linear vs. cyclic descriptions of time. Unless the differences in the theories of matter, space, time, light, force, and motion are understood, the differences in the cosmic models seem to entail that if the scientific model is true, then the Vedic model must be false. The fact is that there is tremendous agreement between modern and Vedic cosmology with regard to phenomena and no agreement on the interpretations of the phenomena. The differences in the cosmic models arise because space and time in Vedic cosmology are hierarchical, closed, and cyclic, while they are flat, open, and linear in modern science. The book discusses the reasons in science for adopting a different theory of space and time, and how the problems of meaning, mind, and consciousness entail a different view. That this view changes the structure of the cosmos means that the worlds with and without mind are radically different.

Cosmology (2024)

Free Download Dierck-Ekkehard Liebscher, "Cosmology (Springer Tracts in Modern Physics, 210)"
English | 2005 | pages: 301 | ISBN: 364206230X, 3540232613 | PDF | 16,5 mb
Cosmology deals with the current state of thinking about the basic questions at the center of the field of cosmology. More emphasis than usual is put on the connections to related domains of science, such as geometry, relativity, thermodynamics, particle physics, and – in particular – on the intrinsic connections between the different topics. The chapters are illustrated with many figures that are as exact as currently possible, e.g. in the case of geometry and relativity. Readers acquire a graduate-level knowledge of cosmology as it is required to understand the cosmological impact of their particular research topics, as well as an introduction into the current research in the field.
