Boundary Value Problems in the Spaces of Distributions

Free Download Boundary Value Problems in the Spaces of Distributions By Yakov Roitberg (auth.)
1999 | 286 Pages | ISBN: 9048153433 | PDF | 6 MB
This monograph presents elliptic, parabolic and hyperbolic boundary value problems for systems of mixed orders (Douglis-Nirenberg systems). For these problems the `theorem on complete collection of isomorphisms’ is proven. Several applications in elasticity and hydrodynamics are treated. The book requires familiarity with the elements of functional analysis, the theory of partial differential equations, and the theory of generalized functions. Audience: This work will be of interest to graduate students and research mathematicians involved in areas such as functional analysis, partial differential equations, operator theory, the mathematics of mechanics, elasticity and viscoelasticity.

Analysis Part II Integration, Distributions, Holomorphic Functions, Tensor and Harmonic Analysis

The extraordinarily rapid advances made in mathematics since World War II have resulted in analysis becoming an enormous organism spread ing in all directions. Gone for good surely are the days of the great French "courses of analysis" which embodied the whole of the "ana lytical" knowledge of the times in three volumes-as the classical work of Camille Jordan. Perhaps that is why present-day textbooks of anal ysis are disproportionately modest relative to the present state of the art. More: they have "retreated" to the state before Jordan and Goursat. In recent years the scene has been changing rapidly: Jean Dieudon ne is offering us his monumentel Elements d’Analyse (10 volumes) written in the spirit of the great French Course d’Analyse. To the best of my knowledge, the present book is the only one of its size: starting from scratch-from rational numbers, to be precise-it goes on to the theory of distributions, direct integrals, analysis on com plex manifolds, Kahler manifolds, the theory of sheaves and vector bun dles, etc. My objective has been to show the young reader the beauty and wealth of the unsual world of modern mathematical analysis and to show that it has its roots in the great mathematics of the 19th century and mathematical physics. I do know that the young mind eagerly drinks in beautiful and difficult things, rejoicing in the fact that the world is great and teeming with adventure.

Expository Moments for Pseudo Distributions

Free Download Haruhiko Ogasawara, "Expository Moments for Pseudo Distributions "
English | ISBN: 9811935246 | 2022 | 355 pages | PDF | 4 MB
This book provides expository derivations for moments of a family of pseudo distributions, which is an extended family of distributions including the pseudo normal (PN) distributions recently proposed by the author. The PN includes the skew normal (SN) derived by A. Azzalini and the closed skew normal (CSN) obtained by A. Domínguez-Molina, G. González-Farías, and A. K. Gupta as special cases. It is known that the CSN includes the SN and other various distributions as special cases, which shows that the PN has a wider variety of distributions. The SN and CSN have symmetric and skewed asymmetric distributions. However, symmetric distributions are restricted to normal ones. On the other hand, symmetric distributions in the PN can be non-normal as well as normal. In this book, for the non-normal symmetric distributions, the term "kurtic normal (KN)" is used, where the coined word "kurtic" indicates "mesokurtic, leptokurtic, or platykurtic" used in statistics. The variety of the PN was made possible using stripe (tigerish) and sectional truncation in univariate and multivariate distributions, respectively. The proofs of the moments and associated results are not omitted and are often given in more than one method with their didactic explanations.

Multivariate Discrete q-Distributions

English | 2024 | ISBN: 3031437128 | 134 Pages | PDF (True) | 3 MB
This book is devoted to the study of multivariate discrete q-distributions, which is greatly facilitated by existing multivariate q-sequences and q-functions. Classical multivariate discrete distributions are defined on a sequence of independent and identically distributed Bernoulli trials, with either being a success of a certain rank (level) or a failure. The author relaxes the assumption that the probability of success of a trial is constant by assuming that it varies geometrically with the number of trials and/or the number of successes. The latter is advantageous in the sense that it permits incorporating the experience gained from the previous trials and/or successes, which leads to multivariate discrete q-distributions. Furthermore, q-multinomial and negative q-multinomial formulae are obtained. Next, the book addresses q-multinomial and negative q-multinomial distributions of the first and second kind. The author also examines multiple q-Polya urn model, multivariate q-Polya and inverse q-Polya distributions.

The Theory of Distributions Introduction

Many physical, chemical, biological and even economic phenomena can be modeled by differential or partial differential equations, and the framework of distribution theory is the most efficient way to study these equations. A solid familiarity with the language of distributions has become almost indispensable in order to treat these questions efficiently.
