A New York Times best-selling author and documentary filmmaker presents the definitive biography of Edgar Cayce, the father of the New Age and harbinger of alternative medicine – the mesmerizing story of a simple man with a complex gift.
Edgar Cayce Jr., born in 1877 in rural Kentucky and educated only through the eighth grade, was a man with special powers. Known as the "sleeping prophet", Cayce was an endless source of information. Awake, he had no knowledge of any of the subjects he discussed, but in a trance he prescribed medical treatments, predicted future world events, interpreted past lives (including the life of Jesus Christ), designed innovative technologies, wrote screenplays, spoke in foreign languages, and brought spiritual messages from the "other side." Although he never examined patients and often gave trance readings for people hundreds of miles away, his medical diagnoses were deemed to be correct nearly 90 percent of the time, and his predictions were often uncannily accurate.

Author: Lerone A. Martin | Narrator: Langston Darby
The shocking untold story of how the FBI partnered with white evangelicals to champion a vision of America as a white Christian nation.
Lerone Martin draws on thousands of newly declassified FBI documents and memos to describe how, under J. Edgar Hoover’s leadership, FBI agents attended spiritual retreats and worship services, creating an FBI religious culture that fashioned G-men into soldiers and ministers of Christian America. Martin shows how prominent figures such as Billy Graham, Fulton Sheen, and countless other ministers from across the country partnered with the FBI and laundered bureau intel in their sermons while the faithful crowned Hoover the adjudicator of true evangelical faith and allegiance. These partnerships not only solidified the political norms of modern white evangelicalism, they also contributed to the political rise of white Christian nationalism, establishing religion and race as the bedrock of the modern national security state, and setting the terms for today’s domestic terrorism debates.

Mustang Designer Edgar Schmued and the Development of the P-51

Free Download Ray Wagner – Mustang Designer: Edgar Schmued and the Development of the P-51
Orion Books | 1990 | ISBN: 0517567938 | English | 264 pages | PDF | 227.37 MB
This is an excellent book, and serves as both a biography about Edgar Schmued and a history of the engineering work behind the P-51 and several other aircraft. Schmued led the design team that created the P-51. It does not cover all of the details behind the development of the P-51, leaving out the politics of how the USAAF finally adopted this half British aircraft. The best part of this book is that it is possible to see how closely the North American engineers worked with the test pilots and field reports; it was this tightly coupled engineering culture which responded quickly to every input, every flaw, that enabled the P-51 Mustang to reach perfection first and beat out its rivals.

This book presents the first comprehensive study of the philosopher and art historian Edgar Wind’s critique of modern art. The first student of Erwin Panofsky, and a close associate of Aby Warburg, Edgar Wind was unusual among the ‘Warburgians’ for his sustained interest in modern art, together with his support for contemporary artists. This culminated in his respected and influential book Art and Anarchy (1963), which seemed like a departure from his usual scholarly work on the iconography of Renaissance art.
