Quantum Mechanical Electronic Structure Calculations with Chemical Accuracy

Free Download Quantum Mechanical Electronic Structure Calculations with Chemical Accuracy By James B. Anderson (auth.), Stephen R. Langhoff (eds.)
1995 | 449 Pages | ISBN: 9401040877 | PDF | 36 MB
The principal focus of this volume is to illustrate the level of accuracy currently achievable by ab initio quantum chemical calculations. While new developments in theory are discussed to some extent, the major emphasis is on a comparison of calculated properties with experiment. This focus is similar to the one taken in a book, Comparison of Ab Initio Quantum Chemistry with Experiment for SmallMolecules, edited by Rodney Bartlett (Reidel, 1984). However, the phenomenal improvement in both theoretical methods and computer architecture have made it possible to obtain accurate results for rather large molecular systems. This is perhaps best illustrated in this volume by the chapter entitled `Spectroscopy of Large Organic Molecules’ by Bjorn Roos and coworkers. For example, the electronic spectra of the nucleic acid base monomer structures shown on the front cover have been obtained using a fully correlated ab initio study. For researchers, teachers and students in chemistry and physics.

Problem-Oriented Medical Record in Electronic Healthcare System

Free Download Problem-Oriented Medical Record in Electronic Healthcare System: Guide to Systematic Writing
English | 2024 | ISBN: 9819741882 | 100 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 18 MB
Problem Oriented Medical Record (POMR) has been a standard of physicians’ record since it was introduced in 1968 by Dr. Lawrence Weed. However, many physicians are unaware of its principles and do not apply it in a correct way in clinical practice. This book will describe how to systematically write medical records for the diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. This book will cover principles and practice of POMR for care of inpatients and outpatients. The importance of medical records cannot be overemphasized, but many trainees are not educated for the right way of POMR. Thus, this book will provided the right concept of POMR and correct way of medical writing, compatible with the principles of POMR.

This thesis demonstrates the value of theoretical approaches in the discovery of new superconducting materials. It reports a detailed study of the recently discovered nickel-oxide (nickelate) superconductors using multiple first-principles computational tools, from density functional theory to dynamical mean field theory. In the context of superconductivity, discoveries have generally been linked to serendipitous experimental discovery; this thesis reports some of the few examples of predictions of new superconductors that have later been realized in practice, a prime example of the significance of the methodology it expounds. Overall, it represents a seminal systematic work in the electronic structure theory of the emergent field of nickelate superconductivity.
