Psychoanalysis and the Future of Global Politics

This book offers a unique approach by using psychoanalytic theory to explain how we can resolve the most important issues facing the world today and in the future. One of my main arguments is that we need to move beyond national politics in order to provide global solutions to global problems. However, there is a misplaced fear concerning global governance, and much of this phobia is derived from a misunderstanding of history and human psychology. Not only do we have to learn to give up our idealized investment in nations and nationalism, but we also have to move beyond seeing the world from the perspective of a victim fantasy. Since we often repress real signs of global progress, we experience the global present and the future in negative ways. To reverse this perspective, we need to first understand the incredible progress humans have made in the last two hundred years, but we also should not ignore the real threats we face.

Organic Chemistry, Global 8th Edition (repost)

Free Download Organic Chemistry, Global 8th Edition
English | 2017 | ISBN: 1292160349 | 1340 Pages | PDF True | 101 MB
Paula Bruice’s presentation in Organic Chemistry, 8th Edition provides mixed-science majors with the conceptual foundations, chemical logic, and problem-solving skills they need to reason their way to solutions for diverse problems in synthetic organic chemistry, biochemistry, and medicine. The 8th Edition builds a strong framework for thinking about organic chemistry by unifying principles of reactivity that students will apply throughout the course, discouraging memorisation. With more applications than any other textbook, Dr. Bruice consistently relates structure and reactivity to what occurs in our own cells and reinforces the fundamental reason for all chemical reactions-electrophiles react with nucleophiles. New streamlined coverage of substitution and elimination, updated problem-solving strategies, synthesis skill-building applications and tutorials guide students throughout fundamental and complex content in both the first and second semesters of the course.

On Global Learning

Free Download On Global Learning: Pragmatic Constructivism, International Practice and the Challenge of Global Governance
English | 2023 | ISBN: 100938578X | 330 Pages | PDF | 2 MB
Global security, climate and health challenges have all created a deep-seated unease about international society’s capacity to cope with change. International Relations should help practitioners develop appropriate responses, but Jason Ralph argues that IR would be better positioned to do so if it drew more explicitly on the insights of classical Pragmatism. By bringing this tradition in from the margins, Ralph comprehensively engages norm, practice, realist and global IR theory to extend the ‘new constructivist’ research agenda in a normative direction. He develops a ‘Pragmatic Constructivist’ approach to assess how well communities of practice facilitate the learning that mitigates emergent social problems and improves lived experiences. This normative assessment focuses on the extent to which communities of practice are characterized by inclusive reflexivity and deliberative practical judgment. These two tests are then applied to critique existing communities of practice, including the UN Security Council, the UNFCCC and the WHO.

Liability for Environmental Harm to the Global Commons

English | 2023 | ISBN: 1108496229 | 319 Pages | PDF | 2 MB
This book examines liability for environmental harm in Antarctic, deep seabed, and high seas commons areas, highlighting a unique set of legal questions: Who has standing to claim environmental harms in global commons ecosystems? How should questions of causation and liability be addressed where harm arises from a variety of activities by state and non-state actors? What kinds of harm should be compensable in global commons ecosystems, which are remote and characterized by high levels of scientific uncertainty? How can practical concerns such as ensuring adequate funds for compensation be resolved? This book provides the first in-depth examination and evaluation of current rules and possible avenues for future legal developments in this area of increasing importance for states, international organizations, commercial actors, and legal and governance scholars. This title is part of the Flip it Open Programme and may also be available Open Access. Check our website Cambridge Core for details.

This book focuses on holistic approaches to sustainability in all sectors of environment, energy, building, and infrastructure to achieve the best-balanced global environmental, energy, building, infrastructure, transportation, and water technologies (EBITWs). It presents a series of solutions based on innovative research and applications for building a sustainable Earth for future generations. Simply, the goal of this book is to define the context of instigation to think through the scientific theories and practical technical applications of sustainability for building a better planet. Naturally this book explains a series of mechanisms to develop a sustainable world by implementing mainly practicing the following areas of Sustainable Energy, Sustainable Housing and Building Technology, Sustainable Water, Infrastructure, and Transportation Technology, Sustainable Environment which are, very much interconnected to secure a global environmental equilibrium.

Global Spacetime Structure

English | 2020 | ISBN: 1108819532 | 92 Pages | PDF (True) | 3 MB
This exploration of the global structure of spacetime within the context of general relativity examines the causal and singular structures of spacetime, revealing some of the curious possibilities that are compatible with the theory, such as ‘time travel’ and ‘holes’ of various types. Investigations into the epistemic and modal structures of spacetime highlight the difficulties in ruling out such possibilities, unlikely as they may seem at first. The upshot seems to be that what counts as a ‘physically reasonable’ spacetime structure in modern physics is far from clear.

Global Perspectives on Green HRM Highlighting Practices Across the World

English | 2023 | ISBN: 3031357949 | 396 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 6.4 MB
Environmental sustainability has become increasingly important because of irreversible climate change, widespread environmental pollution, and dwindling resource availability over time. Organisations have recently come under more pressure due to increasing economic, political, and societal concerns to address environmental issues and improve their environmental performance. Recently, green human resource management (Green HRM), among other sustainable environmental strategies adopted by organisations, has gained popularity, yet little has been published on green HRM practices across the globe.
