Kant’s Lectures on Metaphysics

Free Download Courtney D. Fugate, "Kant’s Lectures on Metaphysics "
English | ISBN: 1316630242 | 2021 | 266 pages | PDF | 1251 KB
Kant divided his course of lectures on metaphysics into six parts: a section entitled ‘prolegomena’ followed by chapters on ontology, cosmology, empirical psychology, rational psychology, and natural theology. This volume’s ten chapters, written by leading Kant scholars, constitute the most comprehensive and informed analysis of his metaphysics lectures to date. The book provides balanced coverage of the lecture transcripts from Kant’s course by following his general structure, with at least one chapter devoted to major themes from each of its parts. As well as examining what the lecture transcripts can tell us about the content, context, and development of Kant’s thought on a range of key topics – from his conception of transcendental philosophy to his critical theism – the contributors to this volume also offer expert discussion and insight on how to make responsible use of these key primary materials from the Kantian corpus.

Kant’s ‘Critique of Pure Reason’ An Introduction

Free Download Jill Vance Buroker, "Kant’s ‘Critique of Pure Reason’: An Introduction "
English | ISBN: 0521618258 | 2006 | 338 pages | AZW3 | 631 KB
In this introductory textbook to Kant’s Critique of Pure Reason, Jill Vance Buroker explains the role of this first Critique in Kant’s Critical project and offers a line-by-line reading of the major arguments in the text. She situates Kant’s views in relation both to his predecessors and to contemporary debates, explaining his Critical philosophy as a response to the failure of rationalism and the challenge of skepticism. Paying special attention to Kant’s notoriously difficult vocabulary, she explains the strengths and weaknesses of his arguments, while leaving the final assessment up to the reader. Intended to be read alongside the Critique (also published by Cambridge University Press as part of The Cambridge Edition of the Works of Immanuel Kant in Translation), this guide is accessible to readers with little background in the history of philosophy, but should also be a valuable resource for more advanced students.

Kant Critique of Practical Reason Ed 2

Free Download Mary Gregor, "Kant: Critique of Practical Reason Ed 2"
English | ISBN: 1107467055 | 2015 | 180 pages | AZW3 | 479 KB
The Critique of Practical Reason is the second of Kant’s three Critiques, one of his three major treatises on moral theory, and a seminal text in the history of moral philosophy. Originally published three years after his Groundwork of the Metaphysics of Morals, the Critique provides further elaboration of the basic themes of Kant’s moral theory, gives the most complete statement of his highly original theory of freedom of the will, and develops his practical metaphysics. This revised edition of Kant’s Critique of Practical Reason – which contains Mary Gregor’s acclaimed translation – is now the authoritative translation of this work. A substantial and lucid introduction by Andrews Reath places the mains themes of the Critique in the context of Kant’s moral theory and his critical system. For this edition, the introduction has been revised and the guide to the secondary reading completely updated.

English | 2013 | ISBN: 3110274531, 3110481650 | PDF | pages: 232 | 2.6 mb
Kant’s critical philosophy is rife with conflicting and aporetic doctrines. Amongst several difficult doctrines, one of the most salient and obscure discussions surrounds Kant’s view of the imagination, Einbildungskraft. One finds Kant’s initial discussion of the imagination in the section entitled the Transcendental Deduction in his Critique of Pure Reason; by Kant’s own admission, the section that cost him the most labor.

Baumgarten and Kant on Metaphysics

Free Download Courtney D. Fugate, "Baumgarten and Kant on Metaphysics"
English | ISBN: 0198783884 | 2018 | 252 pages | EPUB, PDF | 582 KB + 2 MB
This volume explores the metaphysics of Alexander Gottlieb Baumgarten (1714-1762) and its decisive influence on Immanuel Kant. For over a century, scholars have recognized the significance of Baumgarten’s Metaphysics, both because of its impact on Kant’s intellectual development, and because of the way it fundamentally informed the work of generations of German philosophers, including Moses Mendelssohn, Thomas Abbt, Johann Gottfried Herder, Solomon Maimon, Johann August Eberhard, and arguably even Georg Friedrich Hegel. However, Baumgarten’s Metaphysics has only recently become available in reliable German and English translations, so that many scholars have been excluded from the discussion and the significance of Baumgarten’s work has remained largely unexplored. Thus with the appearance of these translations, interest in Baumgarten’s work has surged among both. This volume aims to provide an anchor for this emerging discussion by presenting specially written essays by some of the scholars most responsible for Baumgarten’s current reputation, together with some of the best young scholars in this emerging field.

Immanuel Kant und die Medizin

Free Download Immanuel Kant und die Medizin: Der Philosoph als Anthropologe, Arzt und Patient
Deutsch | 2024 | ISBN: 366269476X | 588 Pages | PDF (True) | 19 MB
