Microwave Material Applications Device Miniaturization and Integration

Free Download David B Cruickshank, "Microwave Material Applications: Device Miniaturization and Integration"
English | 2016 | ISBN: 1630811017 | PDF | pages: 239 | 5.1 mb
This comprehensive new resource based on the classic Artech House title, Microwave Materials for Wireless Applications, introduces the use of new microwave materials for passive devices including ferrites, magnetization garnets, dielectric materials, and absorbers for wireless and antenna applications. This book explores a new set of magnetic and dielectric materials that assist with size reduction of passive devices such as ferrite isolators and circulators. Revised data on the applications of absorbers, including examples of different combinations of magnetic, dielectric, and absorber materials into integrated devices is presented. Meta-materials for antennas and potential antenna integration onto soft boards or LTCC filter technologies using tunable devices with new materials are covered.

Literature and Material Culture from Balzac to Proust The Collection and Consumption of Curiosities

Free Download Literature and Material Culture from Balzac to Proust: The Collection and Consumption of Curiosities (Cambridge Studies in French) by Janell Watson
English | January 28, 2000 | ISBN: 0521661560, 052102546X | True PDF | 242 pages | 1.2 MB
Janell Watson shows how the sudden prominence given to curiosities and collecting in nineteenth-century literature signals a massive change in attitudes to the world of goods, which in turn restructured the literary text according to the practical logic of daily life, calling into question established scholarly notions of order. She traces the phenomenon from Balzac, who introduced it to canonical literature, through Flaubert, Zola, Rachilde and Lorrain, to Proust. Her study makes an important contribution to the literary history of material culture.

Electrorheological Material and Device Design and Preparation

Free Download X. Zhao, "Electrorheological Material and Device Design and Preparation"
English | ISBN: 1604561114 | 2007 | 106 pages | PDF | 4 MB
Electrorheological (ER) fluid is a smart suspension, whose structure and theological properties can be quickly tuned by an external electric field. This character attracts high attentions in use of conventional and intelligent devices. In this book, the authors introduce new advances in design and preparation of ER materials based on two routes including molecular and crystal structure design and nanocomposite and hybrid design. They specially present some advanced preparation techniques, such as self-assembly, nanocomposite, hybrid, and so on, in order to achieve the design about physical and chemical properties of high-performance ER materials. Furthermore, they present new self-coupled dampers based on ER fluid and piezoelectric ceramic for vibration control, and a flexible sandwiched ER composite for sound transmission control. This new damper works depending on self-coupling effect between ER fluid and piezoelectric ceramic and does not need the external power supply.

Material and Digital A r tographic Explorations Walking Matters

Free Download Material and Digital A/r/tographic Explorations: Walking Matters by Nicole Y.S. Lee, Marzieh Mosavarzadeh, Joanne M. Ursino, Rita L. Irwin
English | EPUB (True) | 2024 | 401 Pages | ISBN : 9819953731 | 102 MB
This book considers the generative tension between the materiality and virtuality of walking methodologies in a/r/tography and arts-based educational research. It explores the materiality of practice-manifestations, manipulations, residues, and traces of both real and imagined experiences and events. Authors present artistic representations, renderings, artifacts, and documentations that allow for various forms of return and re-visitation of places/spaces and temporal moments. The book also investigates the digital and virtual, including video, images, media work, and emergent technologies that allow one to literally, metaphorically, affectively, and conceptually go somewhere that might be previously impossible to reach. Authors consider curricular and pedagogical implications of digital/virtual walking in relation to desire, agency, autonomy, freedom, and other issues around ethics.

After Corporate Paternalism Material Renovation and Social Change in Times of Ruination

Free Download Christian Straube, "After Corporate Paternalism: Material Renovation and Social Change in Times of Ruination "
English | ISBN: 1800731337 | 2021 | 178 pages | PDF | 80 MB
In this ethnographic study of post-paternalist ruination and renovation, Christian Straube explores social change at the intersection of material decay and social disconnection in the former mine township Mpatamatu of Luanshya, one of the oldest mining towns on the Zambian Copperbelt. Touching on topics including industrial history, colonial town planning, social control and materiality, gender relations and neoliberal structural change, After Corporate Paternalism offers unique insights into how people reappropriate former corporate spaces and transform them into personal projects of renovation, fundamentally changing the characteristics of their community.

Translucent Building Skins Material Innovations in Modern and Contemporary Architecture

Free Download Scott Murray, "Translucent Building Skins: Material Innovations in Modern and Contemporary Architecture"
English | ISBN: 0415689317 | 2012 | 200 pages | EPUB | 18 MB
Exploring the design of innovative building enclosure systems (or skins) in contemporary architecture and their precedents in earlier twentieth century modern architecture, this book examines the tectonics, the history and the influence of translucency as a defining characteristic in architecture. Highly illustrated throughout with drawings and full colour photographs, the book shows that translucency has been and continues to be a fertile ground for architectural experimentation.

Textile Material Research―Statistical Tools of Experimental Data Analysis

Free Download Textile Material Research―Statistical Tools of Experimental Data Analysis
English | 2024 | ISBN: 9819766060 | 269 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 25 MB
This book presents the effective combination of mathematical statistics, general metrology, and textile metrology to allow data analysis with regard to the evaluation of parameters of fibrous structures. Specialists working in material sciences, where fibrous structures are used, comprehensively understand the specifics of the fabric evaluation and manage in the context of rational use of selected mathematical and statistical methods. In this book, selected methods that are advantageous for data analysis, regardless of whether they are elementary or advanced are presented. The so-called computer-intensive methods are used in many situations when classical statistics is unable to offer a solution, or the solution is too complicated.

Handbook of Material Science Research

Free Download charles Rene, "Handbook of Material Science Research "
English | ISBN: 1607417987 | 2010 | 532 pages | PDF | 14 MB
This book reviews the four classes of materials science, the study of each of which are also considered separate fields: metals, ceramics, polymers and composites. The application of materials science in energetic materials, like explosives and oxidisers, is also an important topic, and thus is extensively reviewed in this book. Furthermore, the microhardness of steel and the various testing methods in polymers is analysed. Specifically, the Vickers microhardness of iron, carbon steels and high-alloyed steels are reviewed. Other chapters in this book explore the process of percolation in cuprate composites. Recently, extensive interest has been focused on the percolation processes in superconducting cuprates, of which physical properties are strongly characterised by the low-dimensional aspects of the crystal structures. Bulk metal glasses (BMGs) are also examined, which are currently the focus of intense research in the world because of their excellent properties and potential applications as engineering materials and functional devises. Other chapters in this book focus on electrodeposition and corrosion properties of zinc-cobalt and zinc-cobalt-iron, the structure and morphology of electrodeposited nickel-cobalt alloy powders, the control of microstructures by heat treatments and high-temperature properties, and the evaluation of fatigue strength methods for machine designs.
