English | ISBN: 1781907129 | 2013 | 400 pages | PDF | 8 MB
This volume advances the debate on the past, present and future of international business and management research. A truly international group of experts present their perspectives, and ask the question ‘What is it that we know?’ when discussing major issues and concepts in the field. This annual collection includes a regular special feature on a leading scholar; exploring in this volume the work of Jean-Francois Hennart and his theories on multinational enterprise and strategic management. Part two addresses international business and international management issues from a philosophical perspective, examining key topics such as post-merger integration, dominant design theory, internalizing firms and the strategy-performance relationship.

Meta-Analysis for Psychologists

Free Download Meta-Analysis for Psychologists
English | 2024 | ISBN: 3031737725 | 209 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 11 MB
This textbook provides a comprehensive, user-friendly guide to meta-analysis and how to conduct it, using open source software and based on examples commonly found in the field of psychology. Meta-analysis is a key tool used in systematic literature reviews to synthesize research findings across studies, but despite being relatively straightforward to perform, it remains underused by psychologists. In the first section the reader is introduced to key ideas that underlie meta-analysis and how it might be best employed. Following this the reader is guided through how to run a meta-analysis of correlational studies and experimental studies using the free and open statistical software JAMOVI. In the concluding section Professor Cooke considers common issues, key debates and examines the relative merits of different analyses and different software packages.

2013 | 87 Pages | ISBN: 3642363482 | PDF | 5 MB
In everyday communication, Europe’s citizens, business partners and politicians are inevitably confronted with language barriers. Language technology has the potential to overcome these barriers and to provide innovative interfaces to technologies and knowledge. This document presents a Strategic Research Agenda for Multilingual Europe 2020. The agenda was prepared by META-NET, a European Network of Excellence. META-NET consists of 60 research centres in 34 countries, who cooperate with stakeholders from economy, government agencies, research organisations, non-governmental organisations, language communities and European universities. META-NET’s vision is high-quality language technology for all European languages."The research carried out in the area of language technology is of utmost importance for the consolidation of Portuguese as a language of global communication in the information society." – Dr. Pedro Passos Coelho (Prime-Minister of Portugal)"It is imperative that language technologies for Slovene are developed systematically if we want Slovene to flourish also in the future digital world." – Dr. Danilo Türk (President of the Republic of Slovenia)"For such small languages like Latvian keeping up with the ever increasing pace of time and technological development is crucial. The only way to ensure future existence of our language is to provide its users with equal opportunities as the users of larger languages enjoy. Therefore being on the forefront of modern technologies is our opportunity."- Valdis Dombrovskis (Prime Minister of Latvia)"Europe’s inherent multilingualism and our scientific expertise are the perfect prerequisites for significantly advancing the challenge that language technology poses. META-NET opens up new opportunities for the development of ubiquitous multilingual technologies."- Prof. Dr. Annette Schavan (German Minister of Education and Research)

The Meta Model Demystified Learn The Keys To Creating Powerful Conversational Change With NLP

Free Download Matt Caulfield, "The Meta Model Demystified: Learn The Keys To Creating Powerful Conversational Change With NLP"
English | 2014 | ISBN: 149751732X | EPUB | pages: 118 | 0.2 mb
Brand new, thoroughly revised and expanded 2nd edition – over 80 pages of new material! The Meta Model was the first model that led to NLP, it is the skeleton that the rest of the NLP Model hangs around. It is an incredibility powerful tool for consultants, trainers, coaches and therapists to radically improve their ability to create change in their clients. However, there have been very few attempts to clarify the Meta Model or frame it in a more useful and comprehensible manner, and many NLP books and trainings regurgitate the same old stuff from outdated and outmoded source material. The Meta Model Demystified thoroughly updates the language patterns and explains how to use the Meta Model to create seemingly magical change simply and easily. This expanded and completely revised 2nd edition includes: * The key concepts that lead to the development of the Meta Model. * A totally reconfigured explanation of the classic language patterns. *Examples of using the Meta Model in various contexts. * Sample questions. * Hints and tips to master the Meta Model. PLEASE NOTE: This book assumes a basic and general understanding of Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP)

Chaotic Meta-heuristic Algorithms for Optimal Design of Structures (Studies in Computational Intelligence, 1129)

Free Download Chaotic Meta-heuristic Algorithms for Optimal Design of Structures (Studies in Computational Intelligence, 1129) by Ali Kaveh, Hossein Yousefpoor
English | January 30, 2024 | ISBN: 3031489179 | 354 pages | MOBI | 38 Mb
In this book, various chaos maps are embedded in eleven efficient and well-known metaheuristics and a significant improvement in the optimization results is achieved. The two basic steps of metaheuristic algorithms consist of exploration and exploitation. The imbalance between these stages causes serious problems for metaheuristic algorithms, which are immature convergence and stopping in local optima. Chaos maps with chaotic jumps can save algorithms from being trapped in local optima and lead to convergence toward global optima. Embedding these maps in the exploration phase, exploitation phase, or both simultaneously corresponds to three efficient and useful scenarios. By creating competition between different modes and increasing diversity in the search space and creating sudden jumps in the search phase, improvements are achieved for chaotic algorithms. Four Chaotic Algorithms, including Chaotic Cyclical Parthenogenesis Algorithm, Chaotic Water Evaporation Optimization, Chaotic Tug-of-War Optimization, and Chaotic Thermal Exchange Optimization are developed.
