Compound Control Methodology for Flight Vehicles

Free Download Compound Control Methodology for Flight Vehicles By Yuanqing Xia, Mengyin Fu (auth.)
2013 | 260 Pages | ISBN: 3642368409 | PDF | 6 MB
"Compound Control Methodology for Flight Vehicles" focuses on new control methods for flight vehicles. In this monograph, the concept of compound control is introduced. It is demonstrated that both Sliding Mode Control (SMC) and Active Disturbance Rejection Control (ADRC) have their own advantages and limitations, i.e., chattering of SMC and the observability of extended state observer (ESO), respectively. It is shown that compound control combines their advantages and improves the performance of the closed-loop systems. The book is self-contained, providing sufficient mathematical foundations for understanding the contents of each chapter. It will be of significant interest to scientists and engineers engaged in the field of flight vehicle control.

Volume 38C of Research in the History of Economic Thought and Methodology features a symposium guest-edited by Rebeca Gomez Betancourt on the economic thought of Sir James Steuart, author of perhaps the first English-language treatise on political economy. The symposium includes contributions from Maurício Coutinho and Carlos Eduardo Suprinyak, Yutaka Furuya, Pierre de Saint-Phalle, José Menudo, and Ghislain Deleplace. In addition to the Steuart symposium, Andrew Farrant, Massimo Di Matteo, and Carlo Zappia contribute new general-research essays on, respectively, Milton Friedman’s 1975 visit to Chile, Keynes and Pigou on employment and equilibrium, and a brief correspondence between Karl Popper and Leonard Savage.

QPLEX A Computational Modeling and Analysis Methodology for Stochastic Systems

Free Download QPLEX: A Computational Modeling and Analysis Methodology for Stochastic Systems
English | 2025 | ISBN: 3031748697 | 369 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 34 MB
This book introduces QPLEX, a powerful computational framework designed for modeling and analyzing nonstationary stochastic systems with large state spaces. The methodology excels at rapidly and accurately generating approximate distributions of system performance over time, offering a robust tool for understanding the dynamics of such systems. QPLEX circumvents the curse of dimensionality by imposing conditional independence, which may be represented via a probabilistic graphical model, and exploiting model dynamics. It is specifically crafted for transient analysis of nonstationary systems, often encountered in practical applications but rarely addressed by traditional techniques. It can work directly with empirical distributions and requires no stability assumptions. Since its output is not noisy, QPLEX is tailor-made for sensitivity analysis and optimization.

Artificial Intelligence Methodology, Systems, and Applications 11th International Conference, AIMSA 2004, Varna, Bulgaria, Se

Free Download Artificial Intelligence: Methodology, Systems, and Applications: 11th International Conference, AIMSA 2004, Varna, Bulgaria, September 2-4, 2004. Proceedings By Patryk Burek (auth.), Christoph Bussler, Dieter Fensel (eds.)
2004 | 522 Pages | ISBN: 3540229590 | PDF | 6 MB
The 11th Conference "Artificial Intelligence: Methodology, Systems, Applications – Semantic Web Challenges" (AIMSA 2004) continued successfully pursuing the main aim of the AIMSA series of conferences – to foster the multidisciplinary community of artificial intelligence researchers, embracing both the theoretic underpinnings of the field and the practical issues involved in development, deployment, and maintenance of systems with intelligent behavior. Since the first conference in 1984 AIMSA has provided an ideal forum for international scientific exchange between Central/Eastern Europe and the rest of the world and it is even more important nowadays in the uni- ing Europe. The current AIMSA edition is focused on Semantic Web methods and technologies. The Internet is changing the everyday services landscape, and the way we do things in almost every domain of our life. Web services are rapidly becoming the enabling technology of today’s e-business and e-commerce systems, and will soon transform the Web as it is now into a distributed computation and application framework. The emerging Semantic Web paradigm promises to annotate Web artefacts to enable automated reasoning about them. When applied to e-services, the paradigm hopes to provide substantial automation for activities such as discovery, invocation, assembly, and monitoring of e-services. One hundred and seventy-six interesting papers were submitted to the conference.

Form-Oriented Analysis A New Methodology to Model Form-Based Applications

Free Download Form-Oriented Analysis: A New Methodology to Model Form-Based Applications By Dirk Draheim, Gerald Weber (auth.)
2005 | 372 Pages | ISBN: 3540205934 | PDF | 2 MB
Form-based applications range from simple web shops to complex enterprise resource planning systems. Draheim and Weber adapt well-established basic modeling techniques in a novel way to achieve a modeling framework optimized for this broad application domain. They introduce new modeling artifacts, such as page diagrams and form storyboards, and separate dialogue patterns to allow for reuse. In their implementation they have developed new constructs such as typed server pages, and tools for forward and reverse engineering of presentation layers. The methodology is explained using an online bookshop as a running example in which the user can experience the modeling concepts in action. The combination of theoretical achievements and hands-on practical advice and tools makes this book a reference work for both researchers in the areas of software architectures and submit-response style user interfaces, and professionals designing and developing such applications. More information and additional material is also available online.

English | December 20, 2021 | ISBN: 3030768562 | 536 pages | PDF | 18 Mb
This book introduces students to major research processes and methods used in business research. The research process includes all steps in the research project beginning from the problem formulation, through research design, proposal, conducting the research, deriving conclusions, writing research report, and preparing and making presentation. The major research methods include risk assessment, statistics, sampling, hypothesis testing, surveys, and comparative analysis. It helps students develop solid knowledge and practical skills sufficient for conducting a research project from its initiation, through completion, and delivery. The author provides multiple examples as well as the questions and problems for self-testing and self-evaluation in each chapter. The book is structured to provide a smooth flow of understanding and learning the material along the learning curve and is concise enough to fit a one-semester course.

The Creation of Ideas in Physics Studies for a Methodology of Theory Construction

Free Download The Creation of Ideas in Physics: Studies for a Methodology of Theory Construction By Jarrett Leplin (auth.), Jarrett Leplin (eds.)
1995 | 255 Pages | ISBN: 9401040214 | PDF | 5 MB
The unusual ambition of this volume is to engage scientists, historians, and philosophers in a common quest to delineate the structure of the creative thinking responsible for major advances in physical theory. The topic does not fit anyone discipline’s proprietary interests, and can only be pursued cooperatively. This volume was conceived in the hope that the importance of learning something general about how theories are developed and what makes the difference between productive and abortive directions of theo retical inquiry could overcome well-known barriers to such cooperation. The volume originated in a conference held at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro in 1988, as an installment of the annual Greensboro Symposium in Philosophy. Most of the papers descend from papers pre sented on that occasion. The authors are well known in their own disciplines, but should be identified to the wider audience for interdisciplinary work in science studies. Rafael Sorkin, of Syracuse University, and Don Page, of the University of Alberta, are theoretical physicists who have done research in quantum gravity and cosmology. John Stachel, a physicist at Boston University, is widely known as the Director of the Einstein Project and editor of Einstein’s papers. William Harper, a historian of science and philosopher at the University of Western Ontario, is a Newton scholar and specialist in decision theory.
