Microbiome Modification The Superorganism for Good Health

Free Download Microbiome Modification: The Superorganism for Good Health by Patricia Worby
English | March 6, 2024 | ISBN: 1501522442 | 276 pages | MOBI | 1.82 Mb
This book is designed as a comprehensive guide for healthcare professionals, holistic practitioners, individuals seeking improved health, and anyone interested in a science-based approach to well-being that emphasizes cooperation with nature rather than dominance. It bridges the gap between the physiological and psychological impacts of stress on the microbiome, offering both theoretical insights and practical applications for a healthier future. The book challenges the prevailing narrative of disease and pathology by shifting our understanding towards health. It introduces readers to the awe-inspiring world of the microbiome, revealing that our bodies are not just individual entities, but superorganisms intricately connected to trillions of microbes. These microbes, outnumbering our own cells 10 to 1, create a complex and diverse ecosystem that plays a fundamental role in shaping who we are. The author’s exploration of this new understanding reshapes our perception of humanity, emphasizing that we are no longer just "I" but rather a collective "we." The book underscores the critical importance of nurturing a healthy inner garden for our microbiome to flourish as the primary means to create health.

Quest for Eye Color Modification

Free Download Quest for Eye Color Modification
English | 2024 | ISBN: 3031643216 | 287 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 108 MB
This book examines the existing modalities of changing the color of the eye with their limitations. There has been no possible way to change the color of the eye with the "natural looking" result as of today. There have been many years of research and trials due to the immense public desire to be able to change the color of their eyes without success. From topical eye drops and colored contact lenses, to the more aggressive treatments such as laser ablation, corneal tattooing, or even iris implants, all have been tried and failed to achieve a "natural looking" result.

The cosmetic gaze body modification and the construction of beauty

Free Download The cosmetic gaze : body modification and the construction of beauty By Wegenstein, Bernadette
2012 | 226 Pages | ISBN: 0262232677 | PDF | 5 MB
If the gaze can be understood to mark the disjuncture between how we see ourselves and how we want to be seen by others, the cosmetic gaze–in Bernadette Wegenstein’s groundbreaking formulation–is one through which the act of looking at our bodies and those of others is already informed by the techniques, expectations, and strategies (often surgical) of bodily modification. It is, Wegenstein says, also a moralizing gaze, a way of looking at bodies as awaiting both physical and spiritual improvement. In The Cosmetic Gaze, Wegenstein charts this synthesis of outer and inner transformation. Wegenstein shows how the cosmetic gaze underlies the "rebirth" celebrated in today’s makeover culture and how it builds upon a body concept that has collapsed into its mediality. In today’s beauty discourse–on reality TV and Web sites that collect "bad plastic surgery"–we yearn to experience a bettered self that has been reborn from its own flesh and is now itself, like a digitally remastered character in a classic Hollywood movie, immortal. Wegenstein traces the cosmetic gaze from eighteenth-century ideas about physiognomy through television makeover shows and facial-recognition software to cinema–which, like our other screens, never ceases to show us our bodies as they could be, drawing life from the very cosmetic gaze it transmits.

Proximity and Epidata Attributes and Meaning Modification

Free Download Proximity and Epidata: Attributes and Meaning Modification (Synthesis Lectures on Information Concepts, Retrieval, and Services) by Laurie J. Bonnici, Brian C. O’Connor
English | October 27, 2022 | ISBN: 3031170938 | 113 pages | MOBI | 18 Mb
This book provides a new model to explore discoverability and enhance the meaning of information. The authors have coined the term epidata, which includes items and circumstances that impact the expression of the data in a document, but are not part of the ordinary process of retrieval systems. Epidata affords pathways and points to details that cast light on proximities that might otherwise go unknown. In addition, epidata are clues to mis-and dis-information discernment. There are many ways to find needed information; however, finding the most useable information is not an easy task. The book explores the uses of proximity and the concept of epidata that increases the probability of finding functional information. The authors sketch a constellation of proximities, present examples of attempts to accomplish proximity, and provoke a discussion of the role of proximity in the field. In addition, the authors suggest that proximity is a thread between retrieval constructs based on known topics, predictable relations, and types of information seeking that lie outside constructs such as browsing, stumbling, encountering, detective work, art making, and translation.

Organic Modification of Natural Clay Minerals and Its Adsorption on Anionic PPCPs

Free Download Organic Modification of Natural Clay Minerals and Its Adsorption on Anionic PPCPs
English | 2023 | ISBN: 9819964334 | 215 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 22 MB
This book mainly investigates the adsorption of anionic diclofenac sodium on natural clay minerals, the adsorption of anionic chloramphenicol on natural clay minerals and the behavior of surface and interface modification or adsorption on clay minerals. It has significant guidance for learning the transfer and fate of pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) in the soil. It develops an efficient, low-cost adsorbent material and provides theoretical basis and valuable reference for the effective prevention of groundwater contamination of PPCPs in the field of environmental engineering.

In the Flesh The Cultural Politics of Body Modification

Free Download V. Pitts, "In the Flesh: The Cultural Politics of Body Modification"
English | 2003 | pages: 246 | ISBN: 1349387363, 0312293100 | PDF | 1,9 mb
Through an interview-based study, Victoria Pitts has researched the subcultural milieu of contemporary body modification, focusing on the ways sexuality, gender and ethnicity are being reconfigured through new body technologies – not only tattooing, but piercing, cyberpunk and such ‘neotribal’ practices as scarification. She interprets the stories of sixteen body modifiers (as well as some subcultural magazines and films) using the tools of feminist and queer theory. Pitts not only covers a hot topic but also situates it in a theoretical context.

Automatic Layout Modification Including design reuse of the Alpha CPU in 0.13 micron SOI technology

Free Download Automatic Layout Modification: Including design reuse of the Alpha CPU in 0.13 micron SOI technology by Michael Reinhardt , RUBICAD Corporation
English | PDF (True) | 2002 | 234 Pages | ISBN : 1402070918 | 12.5 MB
Design reuse techniques have become the subject of books, conferences, and podium discussions over the last few years. However, most discussions focus on higher-level abstraction like RTL descriptions, which can be synthesized. Design reuse is often seen as an add-on to normal design activity, or a special design task that is not an integrated part of the existing design flow. This may all be true for the ASIC world, but not for high-speed, high-performance microprocessors.
