Welcome to the proceedings of the 1st International Conference on Network- Based Information Systems (NBiS-2007), in conjunction with the 18th Inter- tional Conference on Database and Expert Systems Applications DEXA-2007, which was held in Regensburg, Germany, September 3-4, 2007. The main objective of NBiS-2007 was to bring together scientists, engineers, and researchers from both network systems and information systems with the aimofencouragingtheexchangeofideas, opinions, andexperiencebetweenthese two communities. NBiS started as a workshop and for 9 years it was held together with DEXA International Conference and is the oldest among DEXA Workshops. The wo- shop has been very successful in quantity and quality. We received many paper submissions every year, but as a workshop we could accept only a limited n- ber of papers. This was the ?rst year that NBiS was run as an international conference together with DEXA. We received 122 research papers from all over the world. The submitted papers were carefully reviewed by at least two reviewers. Based on the review results, the Program Committee members selected 55 high-quality papers to be presented during the NBiS-2007 conference.

Welcome to the proceedings of the 2007 IFIP International Conference on Network and Parallel Computing (NPC 2007) held in Dalian, China. NPC has been a premier conference that has brought together researchers and pr- titioners from academia, industry and governments around the world to advance the theories and technologies of network and parallel computing. The goal of NPC is to establish an international forum for researchers and practitioners to present their – cellent ideas and experiences in all system fields of network and parallel computing. The main focus of NPC 2007 was on the most critical areas of network and parallel computing: network applications, network technologies, network and parallel arc- tectures, and parallel and distributed software. In total, the conference received more than 600 papers from researchers and prac- tioners from over 20 countries and areas. Each paper was reviewed by at least three internationally renowned referees and selected based on its originality, significance, correctness, relevance, and clarity of presentation. Among the high-quality subm- sions, only 53 regular papers were accepted by the conference. All of the selected conference papers are included in the conference proceedings. After the conference, some high-quality papers will be recommended to be published in a special issue of several international journals.

This book constitutes the refereed combined proceedings of four international workshops held in conjunction with the joint 9th Asia-Pacific Web Conference, APWeb 2007, and the 8th International Conference on Web-Age Information Management, WAIM 2007, held in Huang Shan, China in June 2007.The 50 revised full papers and 25 revised short papers presented together with the abstract of one keynote talk were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 266 submissions. The papers of the four workshops are very specific and contribute to enlarging the spectrum of the more general topics treated in the APWeb 2007 and WAIM 2007 main conferences. Topics addressed by the workshops are: Database Management and Application over Networks (DBMAN 2007), Emerging Trends of Web Technologies and Applications (WebETrends 2007), Process Aware Information Systems (PAIS 2007), and Application and Security Service in Web and Pervasive Environments (ASWAN 2007).

Neural Network Learning in Humans

Free Download Giselher Schalow, "Neural Network Learning in Humans "
English | ISBN: 1634824687 | 2015 | 329 pages | PDF | 24 MB
Based on human neurophysiology, it has been shown that the human brain and spinal cord can partly be repaired by movement-based learning. It seems that even to a very limited extent, new nerve cells can be built anew in the human central nervous system. Neural network learning starts with the knowledge of basic human neural network functions and their communication with the outside world. Neural network functions can only be explored thoroughly if it is partly known what impulse patterns run into and out of the networks. Even though the gained knowledge is rudimentary, it has immediate consequences for learning and the repair of the human central nervous system. This book discusses the theory of neural network learning. It provides research on neural network learning rates in healthy patients and patients with central nervous system injuries; neural network learning for coma patients; improving health in geriatric and cancer patients; and improving mental functions in patients with depression and anxiety.
