Operator Algebras and Quantum Statistical Mechanics Equilibrium States. Models in Quantum Statistical Mechanics

Free Download Operator Algebras and Quantum Statistical Mechanics: Equilibrium States. Models in Quantum Statistical Mechanics By Professor Ola Bratteli, Professor Derek W. Robinson (auth.)
1997 | 517 Pages | ISBN: 3642082572 | PDF | 19 MB
For almost two decades this has been the classical textbook on applications of operator algebra theory to quantum statistical physics. It describes the general structure of equilibrium states, the KMS-condition and stability, quantum spin systems and continuous systems.Major changes in the new edition relate to Bose–Einstein condensation, the dynamics of the X-Y model and questions on phase transitions. Notes and remarks have been considerably augmented.

Recent Developments in Operator Theory and Its Applications International Conference in Winnipeg, October 2-6, 1994

Free Download Recent Developments in Operator Theory and Its Applications: International Conference in Winnipeg, October 2-6, 1994 By Daniel Alpay, Israel Gohberg, Lev Sakhnovich (auth.), I. Gohberg, P. Lancaster, P. N. Shivakumar (eds.)
1996 | 436 Pages | ISBN: 3034898789 | PDF | 13 MB
The present volume contains the proceedings of the International Conference on Ap plications of Operator Theory held in Winnipeg, Canada (October 2nd to 6th, 1994), which was organized by the Institute of Industrial Mathematical Sciences (IIMS) of the University of Manitoba. At this conference 92 participants representing 15 countries par ticipated, and 64 papers were presented. This meeting was the second of a linked pair. The first was a program of advanced instruction held at the Fields Institute, Ontario, followed by a research conference. The first of these events gave rise to the volume "Lectures on Operator Theory and its Applications", published by the American Mathematical Society for the Fields Institute in 1995. These two events were the creation of the following Program Committee: M. A. Dahleh (M. I. T. ) P. A. Fillmore (Dalhousie) B. A. Francis (Toronto) F. Ghahramani (Manitoba) K. Glover (Cambridge) I. Gohberg (Tel Aviv) T. Kailath (Stanford) P. Lancaster (Calgary), Chair H. Langer (Vienna) P. N. Shivakumar (Manitoba) A. A. Shkalikov (Moscow) B. Simon (Cal. Tech. ) H. Widom (Santa Cruz) Both events focused on the following main topics: Infinite matrices and projection methods, linear operators on indefinite scalar product spaces, differential operators and mathematical systems theory and control. This volume contains a selection of papers in modern operator theory and its appli cations. They are dedicated to recent achievements and many are written by leaders in the mentioned fields.

Operator Theory and Boundary Eigenvalue Problems International Workshop in Vienna, July 27-30, 1993

Free Download Operator Theory and Boundary Eigenvalue Problems: International Workshop in Vienna, July 27-30, 1993 By Daniel Alpay, Marek Rakowski (auth.), I. Gohberg, H. Langer (eds.)
1995 | 316 Pages | ISBN: 3034899092 | PDF | 8 MB
The Workshop on Operator Theory and Boundary Eigenvalue Problems was held at the Technical University, Vienna, Austria, July 27 to 30, 1993. It was the seventh workshop in the series of IWOTA (International Workshops on Operator Theory and Applications). The main topics at the workshop were interpolation problems and analytic matrix functions, operator theory in spaces with indefinite scalar products, boundary value problems for differential and functional-differential equations and systems theory and control. The workshop covered different aspects, starting with abstract operator theory up to contrete applications. The papers in these proceedings provide an accurate cross section of the lectures presented at the workshop. This book will be of interest to a wide group of pure and applied mathematicians.

Asymptotics of Nonlinearities and Operator Equations

Free Download Asymptotics of Nonlinearities and Operator Equations By Alexander M. Krasnosel’skii (auth.)
1995 | 278 Pages | ISBN: 3034898991 | PDF | 8 MB
New methods for solving classical problems in the theory of nonlinear operator equations (solvability, multiple solutions, bifurcations, nonlinear resonance, potential methods, etc) are introduced and discussed. The general abstract theorems are illustrated by various applications to differential equations and boundary value problems. In particular, the problem on forced periodic oscillations is considered for equations arising in control theory.

Applications of q-Calculus in Operator Theory

Free Download Applications of q-Calculus in Operator Theory By Ali Aral, Vijay Gupta, Ravi P Agarwal (auth.)
2013 | 262 Pages | ISBN: 1461469457 | PDF | 2 MB
The approximation of functions by linear positive operators is an important research topic in general mathematics and it also provides powerful tools to application areas such as computer-aided geometric design, numerical analysis, and solutions of differential equations. q-Calculus is a generalization of many subjects, such as hypergeometric series, complex analysis, and particle physics. This monograph is an introduction to combining approximation theory and q-Calculus with applications, by using well- known operators. The presentation is systematic and the authors include a brief summary of the notations and basic definitions of q-calculus before delving into more advanced material. The many applications of q-calculus in the theory of approximation, especially on various operators, which includes convergence of operators to functions in real and complex domain forms the gist of the book. This book is suitable for researchers and students in mathematics, physics and engineering, and for professionals who would enjoy exploring the host of mathematical techniques and ideas that are collected and discussed in the book.
