by Jean Gallier & Jocelyn Quaintance

English | 2021 | ISBN: 9811206392 | 823 pages | True/Retail PDF | 7.11 MB
This book provides the mathematical fundamentals of linear algebra to practicers in computer vision, machine learning, robotics, applied mathematics, and electrical engineering. By only assuming a knowledge of calculus, the authors develop, in a rigorous yet down to earth manner, the mathematical theory behind concepts such as: vectors spaces, bases, linear maps, duality, Hermitian spaces, the spectral theorems, SVD, and the primary decomposition theorem. At all times, pertinent real-world applications are provided. This book includes the mathematical explanations for the tools used which we believe that is adequate for computer scientists, engineers and mathematicians who really want to do serious research and make significant contributions in their respective fields.

Applied Graph Theory An Introduction with Graph Optimization and Algebraic Graph Theory

Free Download Applied Graph Theory : An Introduction with Graph Optimization and Algebraic Graph Theory (304 Pages)
by Christopher Griffin

English | 2023 | ISBN: 9811273103 | 305 pages | True PDF | 9.02 MB
This book serves as an introduction to graph theory and its applications. It is intended for a senior undergraduate course in graph theory but is also appropriate for beginning graduate students in science or engineering. The book presents a rigorous (proof-based) introduction to graph theory while also discussing applications of the results for solving real-world problems of interest. The book is divided into four parts. Part 1 covers the combinatorial aspects of graph theory including a discussion of common vocabulary, a discussion of vertex and edge cuts, Eulerian tours, Hamiltonian paths and a characterization of trees. This leads to Part 2, which discusses common combinatorial optimization problems. Spanning trees, shortest path problems and matroids are all discussed, as are maximum flow problems. Part 2 ends with a discussion of graph coloring and a proof of the NP-completeness of the coloring problem. Part 3 introduces the reader to algebraic graph theory, and focuses on Markov chains, centrality computation (e.g., eigenvector centrality and page rank), as well as spectral graph clustering and the graph Laplacian. Part 4 contains additional material on linear programming, which is used to provide an alternative analysis of the maximum flow problem. Two appendices containing prerequisite material on linear algebra and probability theory are also provided.

Advanced Optimization for Process Systems Engineering

Free Download Advanced Optimization for Process Systems Engineering
by Ignacio E. Grossmann

English | 2021 | ISBN: 1108831656 | 206 pages | True PDF | 15.73 MB
Based on the author’s forty years of teaching experience, this unique textbook covers both basic and advanced concepts of optimization theory and methods for process systems engineers. Topics covered include continuous, discrete and logic optimization (linear, nonlinear, mixed-integer and generalized disjunctive programming), optimization under uncertainty (stochastic programming and flexibility analysis), and decomposition techniques (Lagrangean and Benders decomposition). Assuming only a basic background in calculus and linear algebra, it enables easy understanding of mathematical reasoning, and numerous examples throughout illustrate key concepts and algorithms. End-of-chapter exercises involving theoretical derivations and small numerical problems, as well as in modeling systems like GAMS, enhance understanding and help put knowledge into practice. Accompanied by two appendices containing web links to modeling systems and models related to applications in PSE, this is an essential text for single-semester, graduate courses in process systems engineering in departments of chemical engineering.

Real-Time Character Optimization – From Film to Games

Tomas Sackmann | Duration: 4:43 h | Video: H264 1920×1080 | Audio: AAC 44,1 kHz 2ch | 17,2 GB | Language: English
In this course, viewers will learn the essentials of creating game-ready characters, along with the techniques for converting a VFX mesh for use in real-time. Using the character from our previous courses as an example, students will create a real-time mesh that’s ready to be imported into a real-time engine. They will use industry-standard software such as Maya, Zbrush, Substance 3D Painter, and Marmoset Toolbag for presentation.
Students will gain a solid understanding of the key elements required to create a game-ready mesh, including how to reduce polygons while maintaining UVs, and how to create optimized textures that work in real-time. By the end of the course, they will have developed a robust skill set that can be applied to their own projects and further studies in game development or VFX.
This course is designed mainly for
• Beginners who have completed previous courses of the series and have acquired some experience using the software.
