Radio und Schizophrenie Zur Radiotheorie der Schizoanalyse

Free Download Radio und Schizophrenie: Zur Radiotheorie der Schizoanalyse
Deutsch | 2024 | ISBN: 3662704072 | 505 Pages | PDF (True) | 4 MB

The Westerbork Observatory, Continuing Adventure in Radio Astronomy

Free Download The Westerbork Observatory, Continuing Adventure in Radio Astronomy By Ernst Raimond, René Genee (auth.), Ernst Raimond, René Genee (eds.)
1996 | 266 Pages | ISBN: 9401072760 | PDF | 14 MB
A small country builds a world-class telescope in its backyard and lives happily ever after (or at least for a quarter century). That in a nutshell is the story told in this collection of essays. The country of course is the Netherlands, and the telescope is the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Tele scope (WSRT), brainchild of Jan Oort. Living happily in this context is a continuing record of discovery and as such also a continuing basis for se curing observing time on facilities in other countries and operating at other frequencies. As our community celebrates the Silver Anniversary of the radio tele scope at Westerbork, it is fitting that we pause to take account of the scientific discoveries and insights it made possible. Initially the instrument represented the very significant step away from university-run, specialist facilities to a well-supported, common-user radio imager also having spec tral and polarization capabilities. It pioneered the mode of operation now common for satellite observatories, in which data is taken and calibrated by technicians and provided to researchers ready for analysis. It has been a major source of discovery in, among other areas, research on neutral hy drogen and studies of dark matter in galaxies.

The Listener’s Voice Early Radio and the American Public

During the Jazz Age and Great Depression, radio broadcasters did not conjure their listening public with a throw of a switch; the public had a hand in its own making. The Listener’s Voice describes how a diverse array of Americans-boxing fans, radio amateurs, down-and-out laborers, small-town housewives, black government clerks, and Mexican farmers-participated in the formation of American radio, its genres, and its operations.

Spectroscopy at Radio and Microwave Frequencies

Free Download Spectroscopy at Radio and Microwave Frequencies By D. J. E. Ingram M.A.(Oxon), D.Phil.(Oxon) (auth.)
1995 | 332 Pages | ISBN: 146840735X | PDF | 8 MB
IN view of the growing interest in spectroscopy at radio and micro wave frequencies, and the increasing number of its applications to both physics and chemistry, it was thought that a general outline of the subject for non-specialists might be of some value. Research in this field is still expanding, but is now sufficiently developed for a critical review to be made both of its main applications and of the techniques that are used in this wavelength region. A broad approach has been taken, and the similarity and inter relation of the different branches have been stressed, as well as their general setting in spectroscopy as a whole. In this way it is hoped that the book will be of interest to many research workers and students who, although not directly concerned with the subject, would like to obtain a general picture of its methods and applica tions. At the same time considerable space has been given to the design of experimental apparatus and equipment, so that those wishing to set up such spectroscopes should be able to find much useful and detailed information.

Extragalactic Radio Sources Proceedings of the 175th Symposium of the International Astronomical Union, Held in Bologna, Italy

Free Download Extragalactic Radio Sources: Proceedings of the 175th Symposium of the International Astronomical Union, Held in Bologna, Italy 10-14 October 1995 By Giancarlo Setti (auth.), R. Ekers, C. Fanti, L. Padrielli (eds.)
1996 | 631 Pages | ISBN: 0792341228 | PDF | 24 MB
On the 100th anniversary of Marconi’s successful experiment on radio broadcasting, 250 astronomers from all over the world met in Bologna (Italy) for five days, to update their knowledge of the physics and statistical properties of powerful extragalactic radio sources. Since their discovery in the fifties enormous progress has been made. The existence of superluminal motions in the cores of radio sources, the presence there of a black hole surrounded by an absorbing dust torus, as inferred mostly from studies at other wavelengths, are now accepted ideas. Nevertheless, in spite of these efforts, there are many questions still unanswered. For instance we do not know which mechanism produces the huge amount of energy supplied to radio sources, how the jets connecting the `engine’ to the lobes are formed and collimated, which of the differences observed among the various classes of radio sources are apparent and which are real. These and other related topics are discussed in this book.

Handbook of Radio and Optical Networks Convergence

Free Download Handbook of Radio and Optical Networks Convergence by Tetsuya Kawanishi
English | PDF EPUB (True) | 2024 | 1711 Pages | ISBN : 9819722810 | 481.6 MB
This handbook provides comprehensive knowledge on device and system technologies for seamlessly integrated networks of various types of transmission media such as optical fibers and millimeter and THz waves to offer super high-speed data link service everywhere. The seamless integration of the knowledge of radio and optical technologies is needed to construct wired and wireless seamless networks. High-frequency bands such as millimeter-wave and THz-wave bands where super wideband spectra are available can offer high-speed data transmission and high-resolution sensing. However, the expected coverage is limited due to large wave propagation loss. Thus, convergence of radio and optical links is indispensable to construct worldwide networks. The radio and optical technologies share the same physics and are closely related to each other but have been developed independently. Therefore, there is a big gap between these two fields. Bridging the two fields, this handbook is also intended as a common platform to design integrated networks consisting of wireless and wired links.
