Polarimetric SAR Imaging Theory and Applications (PDF)

Free Download Yoshio Yamaguchi, "Polarimetric SAR Imaging: Theory and Applications"
English | 2021 | pages: 350 | ISBN: 0367478315, 0367503107 | PDF | 154,5 mb
Radar polarimetry has been highly sought after for its use in the precise monitoring of Earth’s surface. Polarimetric SAR Imaging explains the basic concepts of polarimetry and its diverse applications including: deforestation, tree classification, landslide detection, tsunamis, volcano eruptions and ash distribution, snow accumulation, rice field monitoring, urban area exploration, ship detection, among other applications. The explanations use actual data sets taken by Advanced Land Observing Satellite (ALOS and ALOS2). With the increasing problems presented by climate change, there is a growing need for detailed earth observation using polarimetric data. As the treatment of vector nature of radar waves is complex, there is a gap between the theory and the application. Polarimetric SAR Imaging: Theory and Applications addresses and fills this gap.

A Visit to the Sarö and Shera Yögurs

English | 2019 | ASIN: B07WYLDK58 | EPUB | pages: 58 | 0.1 mb
During an expedition made in Central Asia and Northern China in the years 1906-1908 I had the opportunity of spending some days among the Sarö and Shera Yögurs, two small tribes which under the common name of "Huang-fan" (the yellow barbarians) inhabit the northern reaches of the Nanshan mountains in the district of Kanchow-Hsuchow, and part of the plain at its foot. In the hope of assisting in spreading some light upon these imperfectly known races, I offer some extracts from my journal, a vocabulary of words noted down parallely, as used by both tribes, some anthropological measurements and a number of photographs, some of which were taken during my expedition, others representing an ethnographical collection which I made.

The Gallic Wars The Commentaries of C. Julius Cæsar on his War in Gaul

Free Download C. Julius Cæsar, "The Gallic Wars: The Commentaries of C. Julius Cæsar on his War in Gaul"
English | 2016 | ASIN: B01L2VFO9W | EPUB | pages: 146 | 0.5 mb
Cæsar portrayed his invasion of Gaul as being a defensive pre-emptive action. Most historians agree that the wars were fought primarily to boost Cæsar’s political career and to pay off his massive debts. Even so, Gaul was extremely important to Rome, as they had been attacked many times by the Gauls. Conquering Gaul allowed Rome to secure the natural border of the river Rhine. Cæsar painstakingly describes his military campaign, and this is still the most important historical source on the Gaul campaign. It is also a masterwork of political propaganda, as Cæsar was keenly interested in manipulating his readers in Rome as he published this book just as the Roman Civil war began. W. A. Macdevitt’s definitive translation, complete with nearly 300 linked footnotes, brings this landmark historic book alive.
