Satellite Monitoring of Water Resources in the Middle East (2024)

Free Download Satellite Monitoring of Water Resources in the Middle East by Amin Shaban
English | EPUB | 2022 | 414 Pages | ISBN : 3031155483 | 153.7 MB
This book presents both updated and new measurements on water resources from selective pilot areas form the Middle East. Demand for water has become very crucial notably in arid and semiarid regions like in the Middle East. The changing climate and the increased population are the most striking challenges on water resources in this region where the largest part of its territory is dry lands and deserts with minimal precipitation and high evaporation rates, and thus, the average per capita of water does not exceed 25 m3/year. This resulted in developing many studies and researches in different Middle East countries to clearly identify and assess the hydrological characteristics of the available water resources and to explore new resources in order to secure balanced water supply/demand.

Forensic Rhetorics and Satellite Surveillance The Visualization of War Crimes and Human Rights Violations

Free Download Marouf Hasian Jr., "Forensic Rhetorics and Satellite Surveillance: The Visualization of War Crimes and Human Rights Violations"
English | ISBN: 1498535909 | 2016 | 252 pages | EPUB | 4 MB
Forensic Rhetorics and Satellite Surveillance: The Visualization of War Crimes and Human Rights Violations uses cases studies of satellite surveillance over the skies of Darfur, Gaza, Bosnia, Pakistan, and the Mediterranean to provide readers with an overview of some of the technological, analytic, and political complexities of satellite surveillance imagery usage. Marouf Hasian, Jr. illustrates how our earlier reliance on witness testimony or signal communications in human rights contexts is now being supplemented with forensic evidence from satellites that can be used to document, monitor, and perhaps even deter human rights violations on the ground.

No Heavenly Bodies A History of Satellite Communications Infrastructure

Free Download No Heavenly Bodies: A History of Satellite Communications Infrastructure
English | 2023 | ISBN: 0262546906 | 251 Pages | PDF (True) | 11 MB
Taking its title from Hannah Arendt’s description of artificial earth satellites, No Heavenly Bodies explores the history of the first two decades of satellite communications. Christine E. Evans and Lars Lundgren trace how satellite communications infrastructure was imagined, negotiated, and built across the Earth’s surface, including across the Iron Curtain. While the United States’ and European countries’ roles in satellite communications are well documented, Evans and Lundgren delve deep into the role the Soviet Union and other socialist countries played in shaping the infrastructure of satellite communications technology in its first two decades.

Multibeam Phased Array Antennas as Satellite Constellation Ground Station

Free Download Multibeam Phased Array Antennas as Satellite Constellation Ground Station
English | 2024 | ISBN: 9819979099 | 188 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 30 MB
This book focuses on the multi-beam phased array antenna as a satellite ground station. As there are already many excellent books on phased array antennas in the literature, this book focuses mainly on some engineering practices and fills the gap between principles and practices, such as array excitation error impact analysis and calibration methods, array geometry design for hemispherical coverage, multiple beam resource management, etc. This book is particularly suitable for readers interested in satellite constellation design or satellite ground station design. This book also benefits researchers and engineers in the fields of phased array antennas, aerospace engineering, telecommunications, etc.
