Semigroups and Their Subsemigroup Lattices

0.1. General remarks. For any algebraic system A, the set SubA of all subsystems of A partially ordered by inclusion forms a lattice. This is the subsystem lattice of A. (In certain cases, such as that of semigroups, in order to have the right always to say that SubA is a lattice, we have to treat the empty set as a subsystem.) The study of various inter-relationships between systems and their subsystem lattices is a rather large field of investigation developed over many years. This trend was formed first in group theory; basic relevant information up to the early seventies is contained in the book [Suz] and the surveys [K Pek St], [Sad 2], [Ar Sad], there is also a quite recent book [Schm 2]. As another inspiring source, one should point out a branch of mathematics to which the book aer was devoted. One of the key objects of examination in this branch is the subspace lattice of a vector space over a skew field. A more general approach deals with modules and their submodule lattices. Examining subsystem lattices for the case of modules as well as for rings and algebras (both associative and non-associative, in particular, Lie algebras) began more than thirty years ago; there are results on this subject also for lattices, Boolean algebras and some other types of algebraic systems, both concrete and general. A lot of works including several surveys have been published here.

Groupoids, Inverse Semigroups, and their Operator Algebras

Free Download Groupoids, Inverse Semigroups, and their Operator Algebras by Alan L. T. Paterson
English | PDF | 1999 | 286 Pages | ISBN : 0817640517 | 25.9 MB
In recent years, it has become increasingly clear that there are important connections relating three concepts – groupoids, inverse semigroups, and operator algebras. There has been a great deal of progress in this area over the last two decades, and this book gives a careful, up-to-date and reasonably extensive account of the subject matter.

Hilbert C- Modules and Quantum Markov Semigroups

Free Download Hilbert C*- Modules and Quantum Markov Semigroups by Lunchuan Zhang
English | PDF EPUB (True) | 2024 | 222 Pages | ISBN : 9819986672 | 21.4 MB
This book explains the basic theory of Hilbert C*-module in detail, covering a wide range of applications from generalized index to module framework. At the center of the book, the Beurling-Deny criterion is characterized between operator valued Dirichlet forms and quantum Markov semigroups, hence opening a new field of quantum probability research. The general scope of the book includes: basic theory of Hilbert C*-modules; generalized indices and module frames; operator valued Dirichlet forms; and quantum Markov semigroups.

Semigroups, Algebras and Operator Theory

Free Download Semigroups, Algebras and Operator Theory: ICSAOT 2022, CUSAT, India, March 28-31 by A. A. Ambily, V. B. Kiran Kumar
English | PDF EPUB (True) | 2024 | 274 Pages | ISBN : 9819963486 | 33.6 MB
This book contains chapters on a range of topics in mathematics and mathematical physics, including semigroups, algebras, operator theory and quantum mechanics, most of them have been presented at the International Conference on Semigroup, Algebras, and Operator Theory (ICSAOT-22), held at Cochin, Kerala, India, from 28-31 March 2022. It highlights the significance of semigroup theory in different areas of mathematics and delves into various themes that demonstrate the subject’s diverse nature and practical applications. One of the key features of the book is its focus on the relationship between geometric algebra and quantum mechanics. The book offers both theoretical and numerical approximation results, presenting a comprehensive overview of the subject. It covers a variety of topics, ranging from C∗-algebraic models to numerical solutions for partial differential equations.

Semigroups of Linear and Nonlinear Operations and Applications

Free Download Semigroups of Linear and Nonlinear Operations and Applications: Proceedings of the Curaçao Conference, August 1992 by Gisèle Ruiz Goldstein, Jerome A. Goldstein
English | PDF | 1993 | 280 Pages | ISBN : 0792325605 | 17.3 MB
This is the first publication which follows an agreement by Kluwer ✅Publishers with the Caribbean Mathematics Foundation (CMF), to publish the proceedings of its mathematical activities. To which one should add a disclaimer of sorts, namely that this volume is not the first in a series, because it is not first, and be cause neither party to the agreement construes these publications as elements of a series. Like the work of CMF, the arrangement between it and Kluwer ✅Publishers, evolved gradually, empirically. CMF was created in 1988, and inaugurated with a conference on Ordered Algebraic Structures. Every year since there have been gatherings on a variety of mathematical topics: Locales and Topological Groups in 1989; Positive Operators in 1990; Finite Geometry and Abelian Groups in 1991; Semigroups of Operators last year. It should be stressed, however that in preparing for the first conference, there was no plan which might have augured what came after. One could say that one thing led to another, and one would be right enough.
