Silicon Non-Volatile Memories Paths of Innovation

Free Download Barbara de Salvo, "Silicon Non-Volatile Memories: Paths of Innovation"
English | 2009 | pages: 248 | ISBN: 1848211058 | PDF | 6,8 mb
Semiconductor flash memory is an indispensable component of modern electronic systems which has gained a strategic position in recent decades due to the progressive shift from computing to consumer (and particularly mobile) products as revenue drivers for Integrated Circuits (IC) companies. This book provides a comprehensive overview of the different technological approaches currently being studied to fulfill future memory requirements. Two main research paths are identified and discussed. Different "evolutionary paths" based on the use of new materials (such as silicon nanocrystals for storage nodes and high-k insulators for active dielectrics) and of new transistor structures (such as multi-gate devices) are investigated in order to extend classical floating gate technology to the 32 nm node. "Disruptive paths" based on new storage mechanisms or new technologies (such as phase-change devices, polymer or molecular cross-bar memories) are also covered in order to address 22 nm and smaller IC generations. Finally, the main factors at the origin of these phenomena are identified and analyzed, providing pointers on future research activities and developments in this area.

Silicon-based Inorganic Polymers

Free Download Roger De Jaeger, "Silicon-based Inorganic Polymers"
English | ISBN: 1604563427 | 2008 | 506 pages | PDF | 10 MB
Inorganic polymers are large molecules, usually linear or branched chains with atoms other than carbon in their backbone. In this new advanced research book, silicon-based inorganic polymers are treated by J Cypryk (Poland), G. Kickelbick (Austria), X. Coqueret (France), A. Colas (Belgium), J. Koe (Japan), W. Uhlig (Switzerland), and by M. Rehahn and M. Weinmann (Germany). Different aspects of phosphorus-containing macromolecules are described by F.F. Stewart (USA), R. De Jaeger and L. Montagne (France), and by M. Carenza, S. Lora, and M.Gleria (Italy). Tin- and germanium-based polymers are illustrated by M. Okano (Japan), while inorganic dendrimers are presented by A.M. Caminade and J.P. Majoral (France) and by V. Balzani (Italy). Miscellaneous topics covering the flame-retardant and the intumescent behavior of the inorganic macromolecules (S. Bourbigot, France), ionically-conductive inorganic macromolecules (E. Montoneri, Italy) and chiral inorganic polymers (G.A. Carriedo and J.F. Garcia-Alonso, Spain) are also addressed.

Secrets of Silicon Valley What Everyone Else Can Learn from the Innovation Capital of the World

Free Download Secrets of Silicon Valley: What Everyone Else Can Learn from the Innovation Capital of the World by Deborah Perry Piscione, Andrea Gallo, Recorded Books
English | September 03, 2013 | ISBN: B00EYPJ5EE | 10 hours and 1 minute | MP3 128 Kbps | 356 Mb
While the global economy languishes, one place just keeps growing despite failing banks, uncertain markets, and high unemployment: Silicon Valley. In the last two years, more than 100 incubators have popped up there, and the number of angel investors has skyrocketed. Today, 40 percent of all venture capital investments in the United States come from Silicon Valley firms, compared to 10 percent from New York.
In Secrets of Silicon Valley, entrepreneur and media commentator Deborah Perry Piscione takes us inside this vibrant ecosystem where meritocracy rules the day. She explores Silicon Valley’s exceptionally risk-tolerant culture, and why it thrives despite the many laws that make California one of the worst states in the union for business. Drawing on interviews with investors, entrepreneurs, and community leaders, as well as a host of case studies from Google to Paypal, Piscione argues that Silicon Valley’s unique culture is the best hope for the future of American prosperity and the global business community and offers lessons from the Valley to inspire reform in other communities and industries, from Washington, DC to Wall Street.

English | ASIN: B0CSGZBG52 | 2024 | 9 hours and 37 minutes | M4B@64 kbps | 281 MB
Author: Raj M. Shah, Christopher Kirchhoff
Narrator: Raj M. Shah, Christopher Kirchhoff, Sean Patrick Hopkins

A riveting inside look at an elite unit within the Pentagon-the Defense Innovation Unit, also known as Unit X-whose mission is to bring Silicon Valley’s cutting-edge technology to America’s military: from the two men who launched the unit. A vast and largely unseen transformation of how war is fought as profound as the invention of gunpowder or advent of the nuclear age is occurring. Flying cars that can land like helicopters, artificial intelligence-powered drones that can fly into buildings and map their interiors, microsatellites that can see through clouds and monitor rogue missile sites-all these and more are becoming part of America’s DIU-fast-tracked arsenal. Until recently, the Pentagon was known for its uncomfortable relationship with Silicon Valley and for slow-moving processes that acted as a brake on innovation.
