Fracture Sounds Soft String Soloists v1.0.2 KONTAKT

Soft String Soloists
Inspired by the signature Scandinavian string sound that has become a staple in modern drama soundtracks, Soft String Soloists features a trio of violin, viola, and cello, performing at a softer dynamic to evoke a more emotive and intimate tone.
As composers, we often find ourselves reaching for solo strings when scoring emotive or subtle scenes. However, we noticed a gap: many of the string libraries out there are recorded with a more prominent and virtuosic tone, which soars above the orchestra but doesn’t lend itself to softer and more intimate compositions.

To address this, we created Soft String Soloists, a versatile legato library inspired by the popular “Scandi String” sound that has become a hallmark of neo-classical music and contemporary drama scoring.

Fragile Objects Soft Matter, Hard Science, and the Thrill of Discovery

Free Download Fragile Objects: Soft Matter, Hard Science, and the Thrill of Discovery By Pierre-Gilles de Gennes, Jacques Badoz (auth.)
1996 | 189 Pages | ISBN: 1461275288 | PDF | 6 MB
Over the past few decades we have learned a great deal about the behavior of such materials as liquid crystals, emulsions and colloids, polymers, and complex molecules. These materials, called "soft matter" ("matière fragile" in French), have neither the rigid structure and crystalline symmetry of a solid nor the uniformity and disorder of a fluid or a gas. They have unusual and fascinating properties: some change their viscosity at our beck and call; others form layers of two-dimensional liquids; some are polarized, their molecules all oriented in the same direction and turning in unison at our command; others make up the foams, bubbles, waxes, gums, and many other items we take for granted every day. De Gennes, one of the world’s leading experts on these strange forms of matter, here addresses topics ranging from soft-matter physics – the formation of rubber, the nature and uses of gum arabic, the wetting and de-wetting of surfaces, and the mysterious properties of bubbles and foams – to the activities of science: the role of individual or team work, the relation of discovery to correction, and the interplay of conscience and knowledge. In the best tradition of science writing, this book teaches us about both our world and ourselves.

1996 | 651 Pages | ISBN: 1461379938 | PDF | 43 MB
Leading investigators offer the first comprehensive study of gas phase photoionization research in the VUV and soft X-ray regime since the massive employment of synchrotron radiation as a spectroscopic tool. Chapters cover all aspects of photoionization phenomena from total cross sections to highly differentiated measurements such as coincidence experiments and spin-resolved electron spectroscopy. This work is abundant with illustrations.

Soft Matter Physics

1999 | 320 Pages | ISBN: 3662038471 | PDF | 10 MB
What do colloids, fractals, liquid crystals, and polymers have in common? Nothing at first sight. Yet the distance scales, the energy transfers, the way these objects react to an external field are very similar. For the first time, this book offers an introduction to the physics of these soft materials in one single volume. A variety of experiments and concepts are presented, including the phenomena of capillarity and wetting, fractals, small volumes and large surfaces, colloids, surfactants, giant micelles and fluid membranes, polymers, and liquid crystals. Each chapter is written by experts in the field with the aim of making the book accessible to the widest possible scientific audience: graduate students, lecturers, and research scientists in physics, chemistry, and other disciplines. Nobel Prize winner Pierre-Gilles de Gennes inspired this book and has written a foreword.

Soft Computing in Industry 5.0 for Sustainability

Free Download Soft Computing in Industry 5.0 for Sustainability

Soft computing and Industry 5.0 are two distinct concepts that, when combined, can have a significant impact on sustainability initiatives within various industries. Soft computing is a subfield of artificial intelligence (AI) that aims to address problems characterized by uncertainty, imprecision, and partial truth. It encompasses various computational techniques, such as fuzzy logic, neural networks, genetic algorithms, and machine learning, which enable machines to deal with complex and uncertain data in a more human-like manner. Soft computing techniques are particularly valuable in sustainability efforts because they can handle non-linear relationships and uncertain data that often arise in environmental and social contexts. For example, they can be used to optimize energy consumption, waste management, and resource allocation in industries by considering various factors and trade-offs.
