English | 2011 | ASIN: B00K7YGOHW | PDF | pages: 771 | 6.9 mb
This thoroughly revised and well-received book, now in its Fourth Edition, continues to give an in-depth and incisive analysis of the various mathematical techniques required for managers in their decision-making process. The book provides a clear understanding of the practical utility of mathematical modelling and techniques, such as linear programming, integer programming, goal programming, dynamic programming, inventory models, decision theory, game theory, network analysis, queuing, simulation and Markov analysis, for solving real-life problems. The book lays emphasis on the practical applications of the techniques rather than their rigorous mathematical treatment. It also discusses probability and probability distributions-essential to tackling the everyday uncertainties of life.

Natural Gas Hydrates Experimental Techniques and Their Applications

Free Download Natural Gas Hydrates: Experimental Techniques and Their Applications By Yuguang Ye (auth.), Yuguang Ye, Changling Liu (eds.)
2013 | 404 Pages | ISBN: 3642311008 | PDF | 18 MB
"Natural Gas Hydrates: Experimental Techniques and Their Applications" attempts to broadly integrate the most recent knowledge in the fields of hydrate experimental techniques in the laboratory. The book examines various experimental techniques in order to provide useful parameters for gas hydrate exploration and exploitation. It provides experimental techniques for gas hydrates, including the detection techniques, the thermo-physical properties, permeability and mechanical properties, geochemical abnormalities, stability and dissociation kinetics, exploitation conditions, as well as modern measurement technologies etc. This book will be of interest to experimental scientists who engage in gas hydrate experiments in the laboratory, and is also intended as a reference work for students concerned with gas hydrate research. Yuguang Ye is a distinguished professor of Experimental Geology at Qingdao Institute of Marine Geology, China Geological Survey, China. Professor Changling Liu works at the Qingdao Institute of Marine Geology, China Geological Survey, China.

Liquid ChromatographyMass Spectrometry Techniques and Applications

Free Download Liquid Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry: Techniques and Applications by Alfred L. Yergey , Charles G. Edmonds , Ivor A. S. Lewis , Marvin L. Vestal
English | PDF | 1990 | 310 Pages | ISBN : 0306431866 | 25.9 MB
This book is intended both to be an introduction to techniques and applications of liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry and to serve as a reference for future workers. When we undertook its writing, we chose not to cover the field, particularly applications, exhaustively. Rather we wished to produce a book that would be of use to people just beginning to use the technique as well as to more advanced practitioners. In this regard, we have sought to highlight techniques and applications that are of current importance, while not neglecting descriptions of approaches that may be of significance in the future. We hope that we have succeeded in this.

From Newton to Chaos Modern Techniques for Understanding and Coping with Chaos in N-Body Dynamical Systems

Free Download From Newton to Chaos: Modern Techniques for Understanding and Coping with Chaos in N-Body Dynamical Systems By V. Szebehely (auth.), Archie E. Roy, Bonnie A. Steves (eds.)
1995 | 584 Pages | ISBN: 1489910875 | PDF | 20 MB
The reader will find in this volume the Proceedings of the NATO Advanced Study Institute held in Cortina d’ Ampezzo, Italy, between July 25 and August 6, 1993, under the title From Newton to Chaos: Modem Techniques for Understanding and Coping With Chaos inN-Body Dynamical Systems. This institute was the latest in a series of meetings held every three years from 1972 to 1990 in dynamical astronomy, theoretical mechanics and celestial mechanics. The proceedings from these institutes have been well-received in the international community of research workers in these disciplines. The present institute was well attended with 15 series of lectures being given by invited speakers: in addition some 40 presentations were made by the other participants. The majority of these contributions are included in these proceedings. The all-pervading influence of chaos in dynamical systems (of even a few variables) has now been universally recognised by researchers, a recognition forced on us by our ability, using powerful computer hardware and software, to tackle dynamical problems that until twenty-five years ago were intractable. Doubtless it was felt by many that these new techniques provided a break-through in celestial mechanics and its related disciplines. And so they were.

Characterization Techniques of Glasses and Ceramics

Free Download Characterization Techniques of Glasses and Ceramics By F. J. Valle Fuentes (auth.), Prof. Jesus Ma. Rincon Ph.D., Maximina Romero Ph.D. (eds.)
1999 | 241 Pages | ISBN: 364208348X | PDF | 7 MB
This monograph deals with the most useful and modern methods for characterising the inorganic materials such as glasses and glass-ceramics, traditional and advanced. After a short chapter focused on determination of rare earths in ceramics and minerals, there are three chapters showing the fundamentals and main applications of most advanced microstructure techniques for investigating glasses and ceramics: new microscopies (STM, AFM) and electron microscopy methods such as CBED and HREM. Three more chapters are dedicated to the basis and wide applications of thermal methods, one focused on applications on zeolite materials. The XRD for texture analysis and recent advances in fluorescence methods are also considered in two chapters. Finally, the Mössbauer spectroscopy for the investigation of glasses and glass-ceramics and neutron diffraction for the same type of materials is widely treated.
