The coalbed methane (CBM) reserve in China ranks third in the world with a total resource of 36.8×1012 m3. Exploitation of CBM has an important practical significance to ensure the long-term rapid development of China natural gas industry. Therefore, in 2002, the Ministry of Science and Technology of China set up a national 973 program to study CBM system and resolve problems of CBM exploration and exploitation in China. All the main research results and new insights from the program are presented in this book.

Capacitors Theory, Types and Applications

Free Download Alexander L. Schulz, "Capacitors: Theory, Types and Applications "
English | ISBN: 1616689722 | 2010 | 119 pages | PDF | 5 MB
A capacitor or condenser is a passive electronic component consisting of a pair of conductors separated by a dielectric (insulator). When a potential difference (voltage) exists across the conductors, an electric field is present in the dielectric. This field stores energy and produces a mechanical force between the conductors. The effect is greatest when there is a narrow separation between large areas of conductors, hence capacitor conductors are often called plates. This book reviews research on the role of capacitors and capacitance within plasma processing; voltage stabilisation using a storage capacitor; disposal of PCB capacitors in Kazakhstan; and how ideal and real capacitors affect the behaviour of energy efficiencies.

Big Data Analytics Theory, Techniques, Platforms, and Applications (SpringerBriefs in Applied Sciences and Technology)

Free Download Big Data Analytics: Theory, Techniques, Platforms, and Applications (SpringerBriefs in Applied Sciences and Technology) by Ümit Demirbaga, Gagangeet Singh Aujla, Anish Jindal
English | May 8, 2024 | ISBN: 3031556380 | 307 pages | MOBI | 15 Mb
This book introduces readers to big data analytics. It covers the background to and the concepts of big data, big data analytics, and cloud computing, along with the process of setting up, configuring, and getting familiar with the big data analytics working environments in the first two chapters. The third chapter provides comprehensive information on big data processing systems – from installing these systems to implementing real-world data applications, along with the necessary codes. The next chapter dives into the details of big data storage technologies, including their types, essentiality, durability, and availability, and reveals their differences in their properties. The fifth and sixth chapters guide the reader through understanding, configuring, and performing the monitoring and debugging of big data systems and present the available commercial and open-source tools for this purpose. Chapter seven gives information about a trending machine learning, Bayesian network: a probabilistic graphical model, by presenting a real-world probabilistic application to understand causal, complex, and hidden relationships for diagnosis and forecasting in a scalable manner for big data. Special sections throughout the eighth chapter present different case studies and applications to help the readers to develop their big data analytics skills using various big data analytics frameworks.

Free Download Atomic Structure Theory: Lectures on Atomic Physics by Walter R. Johnson
English | February 5, 2007 | ISBN: 3540680101 | 324 pages | PDF | 3.13 Mb
Atomic Structure Theory is a textbook for students with a background in quantum mechanics. The text is designed to give hands-on experience with atomic structure calculations. Material covered includes angular momentum methods, the central field Schrödinger and Dirac equations, Hartree-Fock and Dirac-Hartree-Fock equations, multiplet structure, hyperfine structure, the isotope shift, dipole and multipole transitions, basic many-body perturbation theory, configuration interaction, and correlation corrections to matrix elements. Numerical methods for solving the Schrödinger and Dirac eigenvalue problems and the (Dirac)-Hartree-Fock equations are given as well. B-spline basis sets are used to carry out sums arising in higher-order many-body calculations. Illustrative problems are provided, together with solutions. FORTRAN programs implementing the numerical methods in the text are included.

English | 2010 | pages: 409 | ISBN: 3642145175 | PDF | 3,8 mb
ANTS-IX was the ninth edition of the biennial International Symposium on Algorithmic Number Theory. The ?rst edition of this symposium was held at Cornell University in 1994. ANTS-IX was held July 19-23, 2010 at INRIA in Nancy, France. The ANTS-IX Program Committee consisted of 12 members whose names are listed on the next page. The selection of the accepted papers among the submissions was made from mid-January to end of March 2010. Each paper was thoroughly reviewed by at least two experts, including a Program Committee member. The Program Committee selected 25 high-quality articles, which are excellent representatives of the current state of the art in various areas of – gorithmic number theory. The Selfridge Prize in computational number theory was awarded to the authors of the best contributed paper presented at the c- ference. We gratefully thank the authors of all submitted papers for their hard work which made the selection of a varied program possible. We also thank the authors of the accepted papers for their cooperation in the timely production of the revised versions. Each submitted paper was presented by one of its co-authors at the c- ference. Besides contributed papers, the conference included ?ve invited talks by Henri Darmon (McGill University), Jean-Fran¸ cois Mestre (Universit´eParis 7), Gabriele Nebe (RWTH Aachen), Carl Pomerance (Dartmouth College), and Oded Regev (Tel-Aviv University).
