English | 2021 | ISBN: 1098093259, 1098081048 | EPUB | pages: 298 | 0.4 mb
Christina Hunter’s oldest daughter and a basketball star, Sabria Hunter answered her call to report to West Point Military Academy to become an officer in the US Army and play Division 1 basketball in the summer of 2019. Following this experience, Christina, whom the readers will come to know as Tina, felt urged to write a book. Being hard-pressed as a working mom of six, she never thought this could ever be possible, so she pushed off the idea. The urge came again, and she told God she was willing to write the book but wanted a solid sign to make sure it was him that was asking her to take on this feat. It was on a random trip to Barnes and Noble that a miracle took place. As she was found leafing through a book, Tina was approached by a complete stranger who, she came to find out, was an author himself, who began asking her about her life and told her she needed to write a book about it and he had tips that could help her. She was astonished with the instruction God gave her through this man and vowed to keep her promise to God by telling the world of his love for her and her family. This is a riveting story of a broken girl whom God put back together again. It is a story about breaking the chains of self-doubt and learning to face fear while maneuvering through storms in life when there seems to be no hope in the fight. Raising West Point: The Unmasking of a Hero is just the beginning of an extraordinary life God made out of such an ordinary girl and then was faithful in doing amazing works in her kids’ lives especially in the world of sports and school.

The Blind Scientist Unmasking the Misguided Methodology of Neo-Darwinism

Free Download Alexander J. Bonitto, "The Blind Scientist: Unmasking the Misguided Methodology of Neo-Darwinism"
English | ISBN: 166678317X | 2024 | 130 pages | EPUB | 1216 KB
This book investigates potential neo-Darwinian fallacies, specifically regarding a priori assumptions, that may have led to weak scientific methodology and praxis. It was proposed that five concepts must be true for neo-Darwinism to be true. These are gradualism, the tree of life hypothesis, the evidence of microevolutionary change accounting for macroevolutionary change, time and chance, and methodological naturalism. Prima facie, these concepts have tremendous explanatory power. Yet, with an attempt to carefully examine these concepts, all five seem to be assumed a priori so as to dictate the outcome of neo-Darwinism rather than letting the evidence speak for itself. The evidence left by the Cambrian explosion, genomic potential, genetic entropy, irreducible complexity, genetic limits, cyclical change, probability theory, the epistemology of information, and the law of causality seems to pose a dilemma for neo-Darwinian assumptions.

"The conscience of the AI revolution" (Fortune) explains how we’ve arrived at an era of AI harms and oppression, and what we can do to avoid its pitfalls. To most of us, it seems like recent developments in artificial intelligence emerged out of nowhere to pose unprecedented threats to humankind. But to Dr. Joy Buolamwini, who has been at the forefront of AI research, this moment has been a long time in the making. After tinkering with robotics as a high school student in Memphis and then developing mobile apps in Zambia as a Fulbright fellow, Buolamwini followed her lifelong passion for computer science, engineering, and art to MIT in 2015. As a graduate student at the "Future Factory," she did groundbreaking research that exposed widespread racial and gender bias in AI services from tech giants across the world.
